We’re on vacation in Narragansett, Rhode Island and we had our local meal on Father’s Day For the salad, we used lettuce, greens and radishes that we brought with us from the farm in PA. We stopped by the Fish Market in Galilee, RI and picked out some local little neck clams and some local farm-raised salmon. It’s Father’s Day, so we need steak for Dad because it’s his favorite. We found a grass-fed beef at Whole Food Market when we first landed, and it is not local-local but it will have to do. We topped the salad off with blue cheese made in nearby Massachusetts. Nana came down to the beach house to join us for our first bi-local meal of the week. We grill the little necks until the open and serve as an appetizer with a little hot sauce. We only have this treat when we are in RI, since shellfish is something we *only* eat local. We have a little salmon leftover plus more farm goodies, so we may even have a little local-leftover!
