BALLUT ABYAD SHRINE
PIPES AND DRUMS

The Ballut Abyad Pipe Band, one of the oldest continuous pipe bands in the Southwest, was formed in 1959. One of the founding band members, Sy Feldman. (Pipe Major Emeritus) is still active with the band in 2005. The mission of the band is to represent the high standards of the Ballut Abyad Shrine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The band  financially supports the Shrine’s network of specialized hospitals that treat children with orthopedic problems, burns and spinal cord injuries. The band also provides Celtic, patriotic, and inspirational musical entertainment to the Albuquerque and surrounding New Mexico community for such events as:
ROBERT BURN'S DINNER - JANUARY
SAINT PATRICK'S DAY FESTIVITIES
BROTHER MATHIAS CORN BEEF & CABBAGE DINNER
SHRINE CIRCUS AT EXPO NEW MEXICO

VETERAN'S  DAY AT THE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA - OCTOBER

I have the honor and privilege to play the tenor drum with this band.
