Map of Stillwater

Stillwater is a small, moderately prosperous port town on the eastern coast of Andúnë in the Lands of Entar (see it's exact location on the map of Entar Here).  It derives its name from the wide, slow flowing river that divides the town and empties into the harbor.  A single bridge, as well as a shallow ford are the only two things connecting the north side of town with the south side.

The residents of Stillwater are hunters, trappers, furriers, fishermen, loggers and merchants.  Stillwater's primary income is from the trade of these goods to the lands beyond the sea.  Piracy along these trade routes is always a concern, but so far, no raids have been set against Stillwater Harbor itself and the people here are settled into a life of contentment.
(If you click on the small version of the Stillwater map above, you will see a larger version complete with numbers denoting specific places on the map.  What each of these numbers denotes is detailed below.)
The cabin in the northwestern corner of the map was abandoned for some time before Jarucas and Solia settled there.  It is situated in the woods just north of town, near the edges of a small body of water known as Elders Lake.  On the southern edge of the lake are two tall, rune engraved, stone monoliths.  (Learn more about the Journey Stones Here)
The Caldwell Farm provides much of the foodstuffs available in the town square and a very good living for the Caldwell family.  This familys success has earned them the station of local nobility and the Lord and Lady Caldwell are present at all the events within Stillwater Keep.
These two mansions are home to Stillwaters two leading families.  The mansion to the west houses the half-elves, Lord and Lady Kestrel, owners of the Stillwater Inn (4), as well as the Stillwater General Store (6).  The mansion to the east houses the Kalius family, owners and operators of the Stillwater Docks (5).  This family is responsible for the majority of the trade agreements that are Stillwaters livelihood.
The Stillwater Inns transient patronage consists primarily of crewmen from the trade ships and travelers from the west, hoping to find passage on a ship leaving for various parts of the world.  Despite Lewin the bouncers best efforts, these passers-through do not always get along with the locals that frequent the Inns common room and fights break out on occasion.  The bartender/innkeeper, Nicholas, is a friendly and talkative sort and a good source of local gossip.  (See the Stillwater Inn floor-plan map Here)
The Stillwater Docks enjoy a steady stream of merchant vessels and passenger ships for most of the year, but the still waters of the area freeze solid in winter, essentially cutting the town off from the rest of the world for those long months.  The dock workers are a tight-knit group, but they get along well enough with the rest of the locals.  Lord Kalius himself presides as Master of the Docks.
The Stillwater General Store is usually well stocked with most ordinary - and a few unusual - items.  If there is something in particular that they do not have in stock, the manager, Starling, would be more than happy to put the item on order for you.  Her full name is Starling Kestrel - cousin to Lord Kestrels son, Talon.  The store is a family operation.
Sitting atop an up-swelling of stone is the lighthouse, its beacon guiding the trade ships to Stillwater Harbor.  The large building next to the lighthouse serves as town hall, the jail and the constables office.  Constable Brogan is a large, ill-tempered man with no patience for ineptitude, but he is fair and just.  The combination of these traits is precisely why the Duke appointed him as Constable.
The Smithy and stables are owned and operated by a dwarven master-smith called Cynric Spearbreaker.  Cynric not only shods the horses, but also produces good quality weapons and armor by special order.  In the evenings, he can usually be found at the Stillwater Inn drinking the humans under the table.
This shallow ford is primarily used by those coming and going from Stillwater Keep (10).  The rocky banks of the river here are a favorite location for romantic liaisons.
Stillwater Keep (10) is not shown on the map.  The road north of the river and leading off the western edge of the map is Keep Road and leads directly to the Keep.  Stillwater Keep is presided over by the benevolent Lord and Lady Trevelyan, Duke and Duchess of Stillwater.
