3 Days - Reading Workshop

  • 15 minute Read-Aloud
  • 10 minute mini lesson on a reading strategy and partner practice
  • 40 minute individual reading using strategy with conferencing
  • 15 minute small group instruction/activities
  • 10 minute closure/sharing related to the strategy

 

2 Days - Writing Workshop

  • 10 minute Read Aloud
  • 10 minute mini lesson on a writing strategy and partner practice
  • 15 minute mentor writing analysis
  • 40 minute independent writing and conferencing
  • 15 minute closure/sharing related to mini lesson strategy

 

30 minutes– Writing Workshop

  • 10 minute mini lesson on a strategy and partner practice
  • 20 minute independent writing and conferencing

 

60 minutes – Reading Workshop

  • 10 minute Read Aloud
  • 10 minute mini lesson or review on a strategy
  • 15 minutes of individual reading using strategy
  • 15 minute guided rotations (used for whole class novel - rotation activities will vary - includes continuation of independent reading and writing )
  • 10 minute closure/sharing related to reading or writing mini lesson

 

 

25 minutes -  Writing Workshop

  • 10 minute mini lesson on a strategy/ partner practice
  • 15 minute independent writing and conferencing

 

 

65 minutes – Reading Workshop

  • 10 minute Read Aloud
  • 5 minute mini lesson or review on a strategy
  • 20 minutes of individual reading using strategy
  • 20 minutes guided rotations (used for whole class novel - rotation activities will vary - includes continuation of independent reading and writing )
  • 10 minute closure/sharing related to reading or writing mini lesson

 

40 minutes – Writing Workshop

  • 5-10 minute mini lesson/partner practice or review on a strategy
  • 20-25 minute independent writing with conferencing
  • 10 minute closure/sharing related to mini lesson strategy

 

 

50 minutes – Reading Workshop

  • 10 minute Read Aloud
  • 5-10 minute mini lesson/partner practice or review on a strategy
  • 25-30 minutes of individual reading using strategy with conferencing
  • 5-10 minute closure/sharing related to mini lesson

 

45 minutes – Reading Workshop

  • 5-10 minute mini lesson/partner practice or review on a strategy
  • 20-25 minutes of individual reading using strategy with conferencing
  • 5 minute closure/sharing related to mini lesson
  • 10 minute Read Aloud

 

 

45 minutes – Writing Workshop

  • 5-10 minute mini lesson/partner practice or review on a strategy
  • 25-35 minute independent writing with conferencing
