1948 Hudson Commodore 8 Convertible Brougham #(494)153232

The 254 cid, 128 HP inline 8 cylinder engine has been completely rebuilt and has the 3 speed transmission and overdrive.

As of August 2009, this Commodore was located in Roxbury, CT. It was in the process of being sold for $90,000.

One of only 596 built, this Convertible benefited from a no expense spared, ground up restoration. A winner of the prestigious 2009 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance, this Stepdown Hudson is completely sorted out and runs and drives like new, with only 232 miles since the restoration was completed earlier this year. Finished in the correct "Roman Red" paint, and trimmed out with the standard Burgundy leather interior, this example has the standard AM Radio, power windows and leather interior, and the very desirable overdrive transmission and a handsome visor. Great care has been taken to complete an authentic restoration and everything has been either rebuilt or replaced using new or NOS parts. All chrome has been stripped and re-plated, and all stainless trim has been straightened and polished. Dash, seat and door trim wood graining completed by Grain IT of Florida and is stunning with the top down. All wiring is all new with harnesses by YNZ of California. Front end has been completely rebuilt, as have the rest of the mechanicals, including brakes, rear end, and a new stainless steel exhaust. All glass is new, and every weather strip and seal on the car has been replaced. Stainless steel fasteners were used whenever possible throughout the restoration. The gas tank has been professionally cleaned and sealed, and all lines/fittings are new. The top enjoys new cylinders and hoses, and irons were completely disassembled before being re-plated and polished. The top header is finished in the correct gray, and the new top has a correct glass window, boot and a matching boot storage case. New, correct Good Year wide white walls all the way around and on trunk mounted spare.
