State Motors, Inc., 340 N. High St (1945 Salem directory) and 678 S. 12th (1953/54 Salem directory), Salem, OR: Listed in 07/22/1934 newspaper ad, 01/27/35 Sunday [Portland] Oregonian, 11/17/35 Sunday [Portland] Oregonian, 11/3/1937 Portland News Telegram, 10/29/1939 [Portland] Oregon Sunday Journal ad, and 03/16/1952 Oregon Journal ad with no physical address other than Salem. The 1945 directory lists this as a Packard dealer. The 1954 directory does not list what kind of cars were sold at this business. Further research is being done to find out the true make the dealership represented. An interesting note is that 340 N. High and 555 Chemeketa (See Shrock Motors photo above.) are .28 miles apart, just around a corner from each other. Hmmm.
