New Officers Elected… But Not Installed

Our final meeting for the year was at Applebee’s on Abercorn Street. Those few members present voted in a new slate of officers for 2011-2013 and voted to keep our chapter intact, not joining with other area chapters into one regional chapter.

The following officers were voted in:

· President: Ulysses Simpkins

· Vice-Presidents Program: Amber Jones and Margaret Bacon

· Membership: Shirley Spears

· Treasurer: Judy Newsome

· Secretary and Communications: Carol Scholl

· Foundation: Barbara Milligan

Promote PDK Membership
Do you know any educators who make a difference in the lives of their students? 
 Motivated young men and women who are the leaders of tomorrow? 
Why not extend to them an invitation to become a member of a prestigious organization like Phi Delta Kappa? 
 Without new members our chapter will become stagnant and lose its vision. 
 So, look around and find that leader of tomorrow and proffer an invitation.

If you are interested in joining Phi Delta Kappa,

these forms might facilitate your decision.

· PDK Professional Membership for those actively employed in education.

· PDK Senior Membership for members in good standing, 60 years or older, who are retired. (Can also be granted to a member with a permanent disability at any age with 10 years prior membership in good standing.)

· PDK Transfer Form if you are interested in transferring your Phi Delta Kappa membership from another chapter.
