NetTeam Handicap Tournament 6/23/2002

There are 24 teams entered into the NetTeam Handicap Tournament. This tournament is unique in that the "underdog" team has chances to win the match. In each match there are 4 games between the teams with 1pt for a win and 1/2 pt for a draw. In the normal NetTeam Tournaments the match is a draw if the score is 2-2, otherwise the team with the most points wins the match.

In NetTeam Handicap the lower rated team receives a handicap that ranges from 0pts to 3 1/2 pts depending on how large the rating gap is between the teams. The lower rating teams gets to add this handicap to their score. This means that if a team receives a handicap of 3 1/2 pts then the higher team must win all 4 games. A single draw and the lower team wins the match. The schedule and pairings for the tournament are shown in the table below:
