Book Eleven: The Women King Dhritarashtra and Queen Gandhari mourn the loss of their hundred sons. They come out of Hastinapur along with the palace ladies to see their dead family on the battlefield. Judhishthir goes to welcome the king by touching his feet. Dhritarashtra embraces Judhishthir but he builds up his anger from Bhim who killed his sons. Krishna pushes Bhim out of the way and replaces him with a iron statue of Bhim. Dhritarashtra embraces the iron statue with great strength and it breaks into fragments. Dhritarshtra mourns for Bhim when Krishna tells him the truth about the iron statue. Dhritarashtra realizes that now he has no sons and that his happiness lies in the hands of his nephews. He embraces Bhim and the the other brothers. They next go to Gandhari who was ready to curse Judhishthir. The talk to her and she forgives the Pandavas. The Pandavas, Krishna along with all the ladies go to the battlefield to see thier family. Gandhari hears the wails of the palace ladies as they see their dead husbands and sons. Gandhari curses Krishna who she feels cold have stopped the war. She says thirty six years from now he will kill his own kinsmen like the Pandavas and Kauravas did theirs. They all decide to have a mass funeral for all the thousands that had died. They have a mass cremation and preform all the rituals. Kunti in her grief tells the Pandavas the truth about Karna. ****Please press the back button to return to the previous page****
