Book Twelve: Consolation For a month, the Pandavas pass their period of mourning. Judhistir becomes depressed at the thought of becoming King after all the killing in the war including that of Karna, their elder brother. He wants to give up all his worldly pleasures and live in the forest. Krishna, with the help of Bhim and Arjun convince him otherwise. Noble Vyasa suggests that he perform the horse sacrifice. After they return to Hastinapur, a coronation ceremony is held for Judhistir. After the coronation, Krishna asks Judhistir to go visit Bhishma on his bed of arrows, stating that when he dies, all the knowledge he has within will die also. The Pandavas along with Krishna visit Bhishma.
