26, 2003:
Picked up the bug in Connecticut with my friend Les (who supplied
the truck and trailer), September 26, 2003. The car is one
owner with 61K orig. documented miles. I have the original bill of
sale, title and window sticker, along with most maintenance records.
This car has only been driven 300 miles since 1992! It went through a
cosmetic restoration in 1997 and has been garaged since. I am a VW nut
and this is one of the nicest '73's I have seen...especially in the
North East. It's not a show car, just a nice driver for now!

October 2003:
My parts...been collecting parts from all over. Plate and 1303-S
badge from Germany, seats from New York, wheels from New Hampshire and
steering wheel from Canada...more to come!

| October 3, 2003 I've had the car one week and it is starting to take
shape...looks like a Sports Bug! Next step is tackling the bumpers...I
am very impressed with the interior of the car. Door panels are
original and in great shape. the headliner needs a cleaning, probably
the first it has ever had....It has that VW smell...I LOVE that! |

The bumpers are done! Some of these pics are large so may take a
minute to download depending on your computer. I used Krylon Semi Flat
Black and 3M Yellow Electrical tape...Looks great! |
|
| November 15, 2003 I've just given the 1600cc a complete tune-up and
added a Bosch Blue coil and .009 distributor with an acu-fire unit to
eliminate the points and condenser. |

| November 27, 2003 This is what my car will look like next year.
GSR (Gelb-Schwarzer Renner) That is German for Yellow-Black Racer.

It's getting closer! Looks just like a GSR, now I have to finish
the interior, and eventually have it painted the correct L13M Saturn
Yellow. |
