This isn't a true update more than a request. Recently I had several
people send an email to me suggesting that I could possibly get more
information from websites that have 'updated' frequencies and talkgroups.
Unfortunately, these websites are simply copy, paste and edit versions of
ScannerHome (information content). I would simply ask that if you are
going to use the information found on ScannerHome on your own website,
that you please give due credit to ScannerHome and provide a link to ScannerHome.

The table below represents talkgroups that I have observed from the Knox
County Emergency Communications District radio system. The table provide
the talkgroup, a user if I have some idea and the number of hits the talkgroup
received received during this period of monitoring.
If you can help me absolutely confirm the user's of these talkgroups, please go
to the feedback page and let me know.

I would also like to thank the following person's who have
sent me emails with information since my last update. I don't keep this
information up to date from 100% of my own research, I do have lot's of people
contributing their information so that we all will know.

Thanks to everyone who contributes, your time and effort is appreciated...
One piece of useful information I received was that the
frequencies listed on the Utilities page for Hallsdale-Powell
Utilities are no longer correct. Apparently, this utility is now using a
Motorola Trunking system. However, more specific information is not now
known in regards to frequencies and/or talkgroups.
Also updated is the
Oak Ridge trunking page. I received a short list of talkgroups for
that system. As always, if you can provide additional information on this
system, please go to the Feedback page and let me
know.
In regards to the Talkgroups for the Knox County Emergency Communications
District, the following talkgroups are believed to be associated with the
indicated user.
1376 Animal Control (City or County unknown)
4144 Thompson Boling Maintenance/Operations
4208 Maintenance (organization unknown)
5264 Animal Control (City or County unknown)

Updated the Trunking page. I have
identified several 'new' systems but haven't been able to obtain talkgroup
information as of yet. I say these are 'new' simply because I didn't know
they existed. However, I have no idea of how old they really are (with the
exception of the Knox County School system which is still fairly new).
I was also able to update the Civil Air Patrol
frequencies thanks to an email I received from Eugene.
Below is a list of talkgroups that are unidentified that I recorded for the
period indicated. If you can provide some additional info about these
talkgroups, please go to the feedback page and let me
know. The trunked system I was following is the Knox County Emergency
Communications system.

Over the next several day's and weeks, you will see some changes
to Scanner Home. Since August, I have finally put a temporary antenna up
and am now monitoring the airways. Additionally, I upgraded to Fontpage
2002, which was a real pain to convert the website over to. It was more
difficult than expected.
Also, I will be updating the format of several of the webpage's in order in
order to update the information contained.
In regards to the fleet map for the Knoxville trunking system, I have been doing
a lot of research in regards to the make-up of fleet maps. What I have
found out is that in general, Type II systems don't need a fleet map defined
like a Type I or Type IIi system. If the radio you are using requires one,
use S0 as the size code for all of the blocks.

I received an email a couple days ago that was full of information that
is useful to ALL of us. The email contained a complete lists of the new
talkgroups for the Knox County Emergency District which of course changed from a
Motorola Type IIi system to a Motorola Type II system. I, on behalf of all
of my readers, would like to thank you for contributing this information (Note:
I realize I didn't put this person's name as I usually do, it wasn't an
oversight).
This new information can be found on the trunking
page.
One question that has been asked of me is if the fleet map has changed.
Well, I would have to assume that it has, however, I cannot verify this
information since as I said on August 6th, I don't have the capability to scan
right now as my radio room is still 'unassembled'. If anyone has any
information to share in regards to the fleet map settings, please let me know
and I will pass it on.

Well, it has been a while. I must apologize for the long delay in
updating the website, however, things started piling up and was never able to
get caught up. Within a month of having surgery on 3/24/03, I was readmitted
into the hospital due to complications. After that was straightened out
and I started regaining strength, we found a house that we liked and started the
process of purchasing our first house That process took about a month and
then getting the house ready to move into took a lot of time.
I will have to admit that I am still behind in information. All of the
information I am providing tonight are from the loyal readers of this website.
My radio room is still not set up (antenna's, etc) and as a result, I haven't
been scanning the airwaves trying to verify or identify various talkgroups, etc.
I have updated the trunking page with the newest
information that I have. Thanks Gary for the information.
