Formed by the forces of nature, the Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular and scenic places in the United States. It is said to be one of the natural wonders of the world (along with Niagara Falls, the Great Barrier Reef, Krakatoa, Mt Fugi, and Mt. Everest to name a few.) However, many never see its true beauty because they only view it from the top.  Once you enter the canyon (with the proper permits) you can truly appreciate the magnitude and beauty of the Grand Canyon. These photos are from a backpacking trip through the canyon in the 1991.
