Weird Plant
Maui has one of the largest mountains in the United States (its base is below sea level). As you go towards the top very little grows. Not because of lack of nutrients in the soil (volcanic soil is rich in nutrients) but because of UV radiation. Plants like the one in the upper left have adapted to this habitat, but as a result are found no where else in the world. If any one knows the name of the plant or of the mountain could you please E-mail me with it.
