The San Juan islands are located in Puget Sound which is a sound located in Washington state.  They stretch from the Seattle area all the way up to where the sound opens out into the Pacific.  These are really beautiful islands and are popular vacation spots.  These pictures are from Orca Island which I think is one of the bigger islands. Its a really beautiful island and on a clear day (I've been assured that they do exist in Washington) you can even see Canada.
