Sand Harbor is a part of a Nevada State Park on the eastern part of Lake Tahoe. It is nestled beneath towering cliffs of the Sierra’s and is very scenic. The color of the water (which is a reflection of sky) is very similar to the color of the water in Greece. However, this water is around 60 Degrees on a good day. It is from snow melt and is extremely cold as a result. This combined with its altitude make it very hard for things to live in Lake Tahoe resulting in the lake being so clear. This area is a very popular recreation area in the summer time with swimmers, boaters and jet skiers. And as you can see from the pictures, people have good reason for summering on lake Tahoe.
