Cora (2002-2004)

Adopted in November 2003 by Molly and Will from an animal shelter near Fort Meade, MD, Cora was about a year old when adopted. She liked to hide, but was also a sweet kitty who loved having her belly rubbed. The tufts of fur near her ears and between her toes were only eclipsed by her over all grace and amazingly feather-like and floaty tail.

Cora flew across the country and back as carry-on baggage over the Christmas holidays to spend a month in Oregon, where she was very popular with Heidi and Patrick, and well-tolerated by Peter. She was fond of sitting in windows and hiding inside of recliner chairs.

She began showing problems with her heath almost as soon as she returned to Maryland. At first it seemed she might resent the new puppy, but her problems were more profound. Throughout February and March she visited the vet several times, displayed declining health, and finally died on Tuesday, March 30, 2004.
