"Reminiscences" is an attempt to recapture some impressions and experiences of my early years during and after wartime Germany, as well as the years after immigration to the U.S. .
"Writings" consists of my short fiction works. Having read and analyzed a number of short stories in a literature class, I thought I might write some of my own as an exercise in self-expression, and began doing so early in 2004. Then one of the entries ("Aeolian Laments") became a cycle of verses, and I changed the title of the section from "Short Stories" to "Writings". Over time, I seem to have found greater expressiveness in verses, and so more and more of my writing is in that form.
June 2010: I'm a published poet! There had been a call for submissions to an anthology "Celebrating Poets over 70" by the McMaster Centre for Gerontological Studies and Tower Poetry Society, Hamilton, Ontario. I submitted the triptych Seasons, and had one, "Autumn", accepted for publication. Here's the site for Celebrating Poets over 70 and my accepted poem Autumn, with a brief bio.
[I could actually claim being published before - that was Aeolian Laments in the biannual Journal put together by BOLLI - Brandeis Osher Lifelong Learning Institute]
