Use this worksheet to record the background research information you gather from each
source.
- A good science project researches what scientists already know about that topic. Your research of published information should focus first on learning what is
already known about the main concepts of your topic. Your research should then focus
on determining what variables or conditions might effect your experiment's outcome.
You should then find out why and how each of these factors or conditions can affect
your experiment. This information is then used to form a hypothesis and design the
experiment.
- At least 3 different types of sources must be used. DICTIONARIES DO NOT
COUNT.
- Acceptable types of sources for research information include:
- reference books, science books, science text books, web sites, CD ROM's, magazines,
newspapers, interviews, periodicals, science journals, correspondence with businesses,
etc.
