HYPOTHESIS - The hypothesis should restate the problem and predict an answer to that question.  This predicted answer is not a random guess but an educated scientific guess based on  information learned from your research.

 

example: I predict that the answer to the problem is that bean plants given ACME fertilizer will grow taller than bean plants given Generic brand fertilizer.
