About Our 2011 Ports Of Call

Part of the fun of these cruises is the adventure of going to new places and discovering new things, an experience that both the celebrities and their fans will all enjoy sharing with each other. And in our special Creative Workshop At Sea, you may even be able to use some of the fun things you see and discover on our travels as subject matter to include in the original adventure we'll be making together! It will be a fan-tastic voyage that you'll never forget. Check out the chart below for our complete port of call schedule.

We begin our adventure in Orlando with our Bon Voyage Party following the Hurricane Who convention. The party is included free in your cruise membership, and it will start up at about 7pm on Sunday 6 November, the night before our ship sets sail, so you will have time to fly in earlier from wherever you live if you're not a native Floridian, and have a great time before the actual cruise, meeting all the other fans & our celebrity guests of honor as a number of local area fans bid us all a Bon Voyage, and then wake up the next morning and enjoy a bit of the famous Florida sunshine on your own before actually heading out to Port Canaveral to board our ship, the Carnival Ecstasy, a couple of hours before it's scheduled 7:00pm departure on Monday the 7th. If you have the extra vacation time, you'll want to plan a few extra days in the local area to take in some of the famous stghts, like the many theme parks or the space center, and of course the Hurricane Who convention too...

First port up on Tuesday is Freeport, Bahamas. Listening to Goombay music while savoring roasted conch as waves lap a white sandy shore--this is the essence of the Bahamas and it's all tax free. A product of the Fifties, Freeport today is the place to play, and the island's 60 miles of white-sand beach, four golf courses, two casinos, offshore barrier reef, and interior jungle give ample opportunity for everyone of every age to do so. At Lucayan National Park, one of the largest and oldest underwater cave systems in the world is open for exploration, while parrots and alligators await at Garden of the Groves..

Next up on Wednesday is Nassau, Bahamas. The number one photo op on the island is the balcony of 18th-century Balcony House, which also happens to be Nassau's oldest wooden structure. For dolphin encounters of the bottlenose kind and seven stunning beaches, head for Blue Lagoon Island (a.k.a. Salt Cay). If it looks a bit familiar, you saw it in the film Splash. There are plenty of water sports to try and hammocks to idle in. One of the most popular cultural stops on the island is the 18th-century Fort Charlotte. It's fun to roam the dungeons and underground passageways and see the waterless moat--but some say the amazing views of the harbor from the ramparts is the real don't-miss here. And for the ultimate in island handcrafts & kitschy souvenirs, Nassau's famous Straw Market is king, and only steps away from the docks.

Our last stop on Thursday is at Half Moon Cay, a "private desert island resort" actually owned and operated by Carnival's upscale sister cruise line, Holland America. Whether it's snorkeling and diving beneath the sea or cavorting along the beach in glee, this private Caribbean paradise truly has something for everyone's vice. For kids, there's ice cream and treasure hunts, while adults enjoy fishing trips and pleasure grunts. Teenagers get activities, too--there's a special beach party just for you. Those who can stand to put on socks can delight in island nature walks. And be sure to indulge in a water sport before it's time to leave this port.

On Friday we'll be spending a full "Fun Day At Sea." Thatís when youíll really appreciate that the ship itself is as wonderous a destination as any of the places it takes us to. Carnival Cruise Lineís luxurious ship, the Carnival Ecstasy, is your magnificent home throughout our fan-tastic voyage. As experienced cruisers know, all the great things you can see & do aboard the ship are at least as important as where it takes you, and the Carnival Ecstasy always has something exciting going on. Whether you prefer lounging by the pool with the celebrity guests, soaking in a relaxing whirlpool hot tub, jogging or playing sports on deck, watching videos on your own in-room satellite and closed circuit TV, or partaking of the indoor activities at the onboard casino, lounges, nightclubs, disco, and such, you'll find that your floating first class hotel has it all! We'll also have lots of time to finish up our creative workshop project, and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of our traditional farewell gathering after the final Captain's gala dinner on our last night together at sea. Best of all are the memories you'll take home with you, and the new friendships, both with your fellow fans and with the celebrity guests, that you'll carry with you and treasure forever.

Well, you've come full circle by the morning of Saturday 12 November, as we return to the Port Canaveral cruise ship docks after breakfast, and if you have time before you head to the airport & your flight home, you might want to squeeze in a visit to the nearby Kennedy Space Center, or perhaps take in the local nature scene with an airboat ride through the swamps & marshes searching for hidden aligators?.
