VA 1811/2) in the household following his in the 1860 Census of Hart County.  ELIZABETH LONG OWEN was still alive in 1880, SAMUEL STAPLES was not.

i.  MORGAN S. EDWARDS, b. Mar 1857, Kentucky.  Found 1930.  He married FLORINDA C. CHANEY, 17 Dec 1879, Barren County, Kentucky.  FLORINDA C. CHANEY was born Feb. 1861, Kentucky.  Found 1920.
ii.  ANNE MARIAH EDWARDS, b. Dec 1860, Kentucky, d. 21 Mar 1931, Barren County, KY.  She married BENJAMIN HATCHER, b. Aug 1857, Kentucky, d. 4 Sep 1921, Barren County, KY.
iii.  JOHN F. EDWARDS, b. 1864/5, Kentucky.  Last Found 1880, but apparently still alive in 1910.
iv. MARTHA EDWARDS, b. 10 Jan 1867, Kentucky, d. 13 Mar 1931.  Buried Hiseville Cemetery, Hiseville, Barren County, KY.  She married CHARLEY A. FREEMAN.

UNKNOWN, b. 19 Apr 1841, d. 18 Jan 1925; also buried in Horse Cave Cemetery.   Both found in 1920 Census.  Children of James W. Staples and Mary J. UNKNOWN are:

i.  ROBERT F. STAPLES, born 12 Nov 1866 (1865 in census), died 27 Feb 1920.  Buried in the Leech Cemetery near Rowletts, KY.  He married (1902/3) NORA LEE KIRTLEY, daughter of ANDREW JACKSON KIRTLEY and ALICE A. TAYLOR, born 1 May 1880, died 27 Feb 1920.  She is also buried in the Leech Cemetery.  Found in 1930 Census.
ii. WILLIAM H. STAPLES, born 1868/9.
iii. ALICE S. STAPLES, born 25 Apr 1874, died 1 Jun 1939, Hart Co., KY. Buried in Horse Cave Cemetery.  She married (1894/5) Charles Edward PEDEN, b. 29 June 1871, d. 5 Oct 1951, Hart Co., KY.  He  is also buried in Horse Cave Cemetery.  CHARLES EDWARD PEDEN appears to be the son of EDMON PEDEN. Found in 1930 Census.
iv.  SAMUEL STAPLES, b. Sept 1883, d. 04 Nov 1956, Hart Co., KY.  He married (1) Unknown, 1904/5.  She is apparently the mother of OSCAR STAPLES.  He married (2) Zada WOODS KIRTLEY, also the daughter of ANDREW JACKSON KIRTLEY and ALICE A. TAYLOR, b. 17 Oct 1884, d. 13 Nov 1954, Hart Co, KY.  Both are buried in Horse Cave Cemetery, Horse Cave, KY.   Found in 1930 Census.
