Last Update of this file:  2 Oct 2002.

Generation 5

19.  PRESCILLA TRIBBLE OWEN  (TABITHA4 LEECH OWEN, JOHN3, JOHN2, DAVID1, UNKNOWN0), b. 28 Aug 1827, Hart Co. Ky;.  She died in 1910? in Waddill, Mo, although her husband's obituary has her dead for many years, and he is widowed in the 1900 Census.  Prescilla married SAMUEL HENRY HARDY (son of JAMES GREEN HARDY and ELIZABETH EDWARDS) in 1845 (Dorothy Zongker's date) or 1846. Samuel was born on 5 Jul 1828 in Barren Co. KY. He died about 6p.m., 18 Apr 1901 near Waddill, Mo, and was buried in Macedonia Cemetery.  He was ordained a Baptist minister 5 June 1858, and moved to Missouri around 1884.  Children of PRESCILLA TRIBBLE OWEN and SAMUEL HENRY HARDY include:

74 .  TABITHA HARDY , b. 30 Sep 1847, Barren County, KY.  Died before the 1880 census, probably around 1877.  Married William H. Embry to Tabitha Hardy 8 January 1871 at S. H. Hardy's 1st. marriage.  Died before 1880 census., probably no later than 1877, as a remarried William H. Embry appears near the Hardies in the 1880 census.
ii.  JANIE MARY HARDY, b. Aug 1849.
75. iii.  ARMILDA SUSAN HARDY , b. 9 Oct 1851.    Died before 1880 census.
76. iv.  JASPER NEWTON6 HARDY , b. 20 Mar 1853, d. 7 Oct 1892.
77. v. JAMES GREEN6 HARDY , b. Aug 1, 1856, Hart Co., KY, d. 12 Apr 1933, Newton Co., MO.
vi. JOHN L. HARDY, b. Nov 15, 1858, Hart Co., KY, d. 25 Sep 1861.
vi. JANIE MARY HARDY, b. 2 Jul 1860, Barren Co., KY.    Died before her father (1901), and appears to have died before the 1870 Census.  However, Bennetta Elliott has her DOB as Sep 1849, so she could be in Green County and married.
78. viii.  MATTIE LEE HARDY , b. 28 Dec 1862.  She married ROBERT LEWIS.  Resided, Stella, Newton Co, MO, in 1933.

(7)  Early Southside Virginia Families.  This has his birth on 3 Jul 1884 in Greene Co., MO, and gives his wife's name, place and date of birth, place and date of their marriage.  Change his  date of birth by one digit (1874) and one state (KY) but not county (Green instead of Green) and we match all the census data above.
(8) Obituary of Mrs. B. T. Embry (born CLARA ELLEN PACE), St. Clair County, MO.

75.  ARMILDA SUSAN HARDY (PRESCILLA TRIBBLE5 OWEN HARDY, TABITHA4 LEECH OWEN, JOHN3, JOHN2, DAVID1, UNKNOWN0), b. 9 Oct 1851.    Died before 1880 census.  She married JOSHUA T. MONTGOMERY, 2 May 1872 at Samuel Hardy's.  Wit. by T. Hardy and wife. JOSHUA T. MONTGOMERY appears to be the son of JOHN H and TAMER A MONTGOMERY, b. 1850, d. before the 1880 Census. Children of ARMILDA SUSAN HARDY and JOSHUA T. MONTGOMERY, include:

i.  D. A. MONTGOMERY, b. 1872, Green Co., KY.  (I suspect his first name is DAVID).
