3.  TABITHA LEECH (JOHN3, JOHN2, DAVID1, UNKNOWN0) was born July 28, 1795, probably  in Spartanburg County, SC, and died August 28, 1843 in Hart Co. Ky. , probably near Rowletts,. She married WILLIAM PETER OWEN  son of JOSEPH OWEN and PRESCILLA TRIBBLE, December 19, 1816 in Barren Co. Ky.  He was born September 09, 1791 in Halifax Co., Va., and died September 02, 1857 in Hart Co. Ky.   Both are buried in the Leech Cem. near Rowletts, Hart County Kentucky.

Died of pneumonia (Gorin, Hart Co. Deaths).  PETER OWEN remarried Mrs. Nancy Lock. Martha J. Lock (age 24), George H. Lock (age 21), Jacob J. Lock (age 20), and Juana Lock (age 15) appear in their household in 1850.

B.  Joseph Owen was born circa 1765 at Norfolk County, Virginia. He married Priscilla Tribble, daughter of Peter Tribble and Susanna (--?--), on 22 November 1790 at Halifax County, Virginia. He was On the fourth Saturday in August, 1824, JOSEPH OWEN was received by experience at Green River Baptist Church, Woodsonville, Hart County, KY..

Joseph Owen is in the 1840 Census of Hart County, KY, on page 199, line 2.  He is in his 70s.  The oldest female in his household is in her 50s.

Leech Cemetery is on what was the Victor Irwin Farm--just south of Rowletts Ky in Hart Co.

Certified for discharge:  16 Apr 1864.
"I CERTIFY that I have carefully examined the said Martin V Owen of Captain G W Twymans Company, and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of Spinal irritation of upper part of spinal marrow which occasionally produces partail paralysis of his arms rendering him unable to raise either hnd without the assistance of the other + so afficting his legs as to render him incapable of locomotion - In my opinion his disability was occasioned by Exposure and Overexertion during the Battle of Stone River - He is unfit for Invalid Corps, "Disability".  Signed, C J Walton, Surgeon, 21st Ky Vol."

At Stones River, the 21st Kentucky was part of the 3rd Brigade (Walker's), 3rd Division (Fry's), Left Wing 14th Army Corps (Thomas'), Army of the Cumberland.
3rd Brigade (Barnes'), 3rd Division (Van Cleve's), 21st Army Corps (Crittenden's), Army of the Cumberland, to October, 1863.   Van Cleve's Division was routed at Chickamauga, but it isn't clear that the 21st KY was with the rest of its division at the time.
Unattached, Army of the Cumberland, to January, 1864.
2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 4th Army Corps, to June, 1865.  This is the unit that did his post-mortem paperwork.

26.  PETER TRIBBLE OWEN     (TABITHA4 LEECH OWEN, JOHN3, JOHN2, DAVID1, UNKNOWN0), b. 1838/9, Hart Co. Ky; d. 17 February 1862, of typhoid, in the Hospital of Camp Fry, Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky.   In household of J L HARDY , 1860 census.

Corporal, Co. H, 21st Kentucky Infantry.
Enlisted:  27 Sep 1861, Greensburg.  Age 22 years.
Mustered in:  30 Dec 1861, Camp Ward, KY.

The 21st Kentucky was stationed at the Green River Bridge, Ky, in February, 1862: fortifications for this bridge were at Woodsonville, Hart Co.KY.
