Not bad for a end of summer night tournament. There a lot of limits. The wind died down after 8pm . From what I heard it was a little chill around 4:30am . Air temperature dropped to the high 40's. Water temp was in the high 60's.

Congratulations to Darwin Ellison for his 1st place win on rattletraps. Adam McAndrews threw everything in his tackle for his 2nd place win. Ron Hunnewell senko'd his way to 3rd place. Eric Daniel's big fish came first thing in the morning on a frog.

B.A.S.S. Federation aligns with FLW . For those of us who haven't heard, Bassmaster Federation formed an alliance with FLW Outdoors on January 13, 2006 . I haven't heard about additional fees, but we now have another circuit to fish. This is in addition to discounts at Walmart. In short, BASS Federation will no longer be apart of B.A.S.S, but that of FLW. Some interesting read:

Tournament Results for January 28 at the Delta, Orwood Ramp, on the water 6:30am

It was not a bad day to fish. We were fishing between storms. There was very little wind in the morning. Air temperature was around 54 degrees and the water temp was 48 degrees. Water visibility varied between 1 to 3 feet, stained. We had a great turnout of 29 fishermen and 15 boats. We were able to payout to 4 places this time.

Jim Woolridge started the year of right with a 1 st place limit of 15.57 lbs. He's got another secret bait… sshhh… cut tails. Steve Ericksen started his 1 st year, as a club member, with a limit of 11.58 lbs on senkos. Adam McAndrews only caught 2 bass, but one was “Kicker” jig bass 6.34 lbs. They say, if you're only going to catch 2 bass… let one of them be Biggest Fish of the tournament. Jim caught his big bass around Tiki. Steve and Adam's bass came out of Discovery. Scott Stewart refused to fish Disco and caught his 4 th place finish on sweet beavers on Middle River .

Wow!!! What a perfect night for tournament!! I was in t-shirt and shorts til 2am. Almost no wind, the bug level was low, and a full moon. We didn’t even need the black light. Water temp was in the low 70’s. Boy, talk about food in the water. There was a ton of minnows all night long. You can tell we’re dedicated bass fishermen, when a boat of young drunk females wave one of us down for a rescue and all we can think about is…. “Man, this is cutting into my fishing time!

Jim Woolridge landed his first grand slam with our club. He caught his winning 6.46 lbs bass on a 6 inch Robo Zipper. Jim’s bass looked like an eight pounder. But since Mike was fishing as a guest, 3rd place was awarded to Chuck Peak for 9.98 lbs. Chuck caught is bass on what else, but the little brown 4 inch worm.

Tournament Results for May 17 & 18, 2003, at Clear Lake two day, Lurcerne Ramp

Wow!! What can I say?! Tough bite and some wind to go with it! At least every one that participated caught a bass. It doesn't help when Stratos has 100+ boats the same weekend. Did you hear it took 66.04 lbs. to win? Well, in our club it only took 20.53 lbs. With a hot tip from Darrell, Bill pulled the two day win by dropshotting the northern end of the lake. Chuck was the only one to have two limits and take 2nd place dropshotting. Ron Hunnewell's 3rd place was taken on senkos. Zak caught the biggest bass for the tournament on a rattletrap in the southern end. Sunday's weight-in at Lucerne was a circus, with three bass clubs trying to launch & boat races.

Two Day Grand Total
1st place - Bill Lee with 8 bass for 20.53 lbs., big fish 4.47 lbs.
2nd place - Chuck Peak with 10 bass for 18.80 lbs., big fish 4.32 lbs.
3rd place - Ron Hunnewell with 6 bass for 15.96 lbs., big fish 4.52 lbs.
4th place - Darrell Allen with 6 bass for 13.98 lbs., big fish 4.30 lbs.
5th place - Zak Elrite with 3 bass for 12.53 lbs., big fish 7.56 lbs.
6th place - Ray Covert with 6 bass for 11.03 lbs., big fish 4.02 lbs.
7th place - Jim Woolridge with 5 bass for 10.50 lbs., big fish 4.19 lbs.

For earning the Bass Angler and Bassmaster of the Year each winner gets their 2003 annual membership dues paid for Gilroy Bassmasters, Bass Angler Sportsman Society Federation Chapter, California B.A.S.S. New news -

Carter Fickes from BBAC will be attending Thursday, March 6th meeting.

We haven't decided on the Location for the 2002 Club Banquet. Our possible selections are Sun Rise Café in Gilroy, Long Horn in Sunnyvale (last years banquet), or the El Capri in Morgan Hill.

Clark Foster Submitted a proposed Change for Rule #35. Tournament Director.

Current wording of Rule 35. Whenever there is a tournament situation that occurs after the draw that is not covered by club rules or that is a judgment call, then the Tournament Director makes the decision. A vote is not necessary. The Tournament Director may consult with other officers but this is not a requirement. The idea is that we need an immediate decision, not an argument.
