My brother and sister flew out for a visit
From South Dakota to Washington state.
We decided to make a short trip to the coast
And stayed at Rockaway which is listed
high-rate.
We went to the Jetty
to catch us some crabs
Like all coast vacationers do
And you can see by the words my sister wrote
It was quite an experience for us sisters
two. While hard at work pulling
those nets
We had a wonderful and special surprise
For the famous Jonathon - Seagull, that is
Came to visit; this seagull so wise. My
sister and I took a short time out
To break bread with Jonathon, our new friend
When all of a sudden the skies became white
With all his friends coming around the bend. The
noise they made, the squawks and shrieks
And one piece of bread was just not enough
A whole loaf of bread was consumed in a flash
Then they all disappeared and flew away in a
huff. The only one left was
Jonathon our friend
As he patiently waited for the very last crumb
Then he gave us a look of "Thank you,
my friends"
And as he gracefully flew away; it was simply
awesome! But this was not the
last we saw
Of the famous Jonathon L. Seagull
The entire weekend, wherever we went
Jonathon was on the beaches or in the sky over
all. And before we left, he bid
us a fond goodbye
By tipping his wing as he flew right on by
We'll see him again on the next trip we take
But the next time we'll try a seafood clam bake.
