There is nothing more fun, or memorable than a yearly family reunion. Sometimes it is the only time of year that family members get to see each other, and reminisce about the days gone by . . .

Pierson Family Reunion

A reunion that began 60 years ago,
or even longer, I'd say,
has turned into 3 days of fun
instead of for just a day

The memories we've captured
as each year passes on
will be forever in our hearts
to not be forgotten, even when we're gone

So as each year continues to pass us by
whether we are near or far
We, the Pierson cousins
will always stand together
Side By Side.....

Pierson Cousins
Side by Side

We are family coming from far and near
To remember and honor our kin from the past
We're brothers and sisters, cousins and children
With varied ages from the first to the last.

This year it was a three day event
Starting with a dance at the local Moose
Wes and Clay were there in full force
So we could cut a rug and let it all hang loose.

The star attractions were the cousins of the first
To entertain the crowd with our singing cabaret
We sang "You Are My Sunshine", and they begged for more
They didn't? . . . well we sang another song anyway.

We entertained them all with our agility and grace
By singing "YMCA" with actions and pantomimes
With some moving to the "M", and others to the "C"
Some were stuck on the "Y" and left behind!

The golfers went out on day number two
Under the sweltering sun to walk those 9 holes
Day number three was a picnic for all
And a time to reminisce and take a memory lane stroll.

As long ago immigrants to the "Promised Land"
Per and Amelia Pierson crossed the mighty seas
And over the years they began this large clan
Who still continues a reunion of all the families.

No, we don't have a barrel of money
And some of us may be ragged and funny
But we still travel along, singing a song
Side by side!

"Side By Side"

Oh, we ain't got a barrel of money.
Maybe we're ragged and funny
But we'll travel along, singin' a song.
Side by side
Don't know what's comin' tomorrow
Maybe it's trouble and sorrow
But we'll travel the road, sharin' our load
Side by side
Through all kinds of weather
What if the sky should fall
Just as long as we're together
It doesn't matter at all

Well they've all had their quarrels and parted
We'll be the same as we started
Just travelin' along, singin' our song
Side by side
See that sun in the mornin'
Peekin' over the hill
I'll bet your sure, it always has
And it always will
Well, that's how I feel about someone
And somebody feels about me
We're sure in love with each other
And that's the way it's gonna be

Oh, we ain't got a barrel of money
Maybe we're ragged and funny
But we'll travel along, singin' a song
Side by side
Don't know what's comin' tomorrow
Maybe it's trouble and sorrow
But we'll travel the road, sharin' our load
Side by side
Through all kinds of weather
What if the sky should fall
Just as long as we're together
It really doesn't matter at all

Well they've all had their quarrels and parted
We'll be the same as we started
Just travelin' along, singin' our song
Side by side
Side by side
