There are 2 sisters who
live far apart
Far in distance, but close in heart.
One lives in South Dakota, the other in Washington
Still they think, and act, and look as one.
To keep in touch, computers they bought
to send e-mails and pictures and to even just talk
So much fun they have each day
talking and laughing and never running out of things to say.
An occasional visit, then the fun begins
Acting as tourists, giving in to our whims
Running here and there, never quite enough time
we don't have as much stamina as we did in our prime.
To visit the Corn Palace is quite a treat to see
It reminds us of our youth, her and me
A boyfriend for us, what a joke
he wouldn't even answer when we spoke . . .
So our visit in SD will come to an end
BUT, our visit in Wash. will soon begin . . .

My, oh my, what can I say
Of these 2 sisters who live so far away
As babes they grew up in the beautiful Midwest
The daughters of parents who were the very best.
In the 1940's they were wee small girls
With ringlets and bows and blond little curls
Pretty homemade dresses to make them look smart
As they took their place in their Daddy's heart.
Growing into young ladies with tiny little waists
They pose for the camera in 1958
With funny looking glasses and dark brown hair
They were products of the time with their skirts and footwear.
And now years have passed and things aren't
the same
The tiny waists are gone and they have acquired new names
Once known as Deanna, she is now Ziplo
And Marilyn is StinaLisa - now that's a mouthful.
The older we get, the more fun we seem to
share
And the more often we hear, "Oh, what a pair!"
We hope that's said in jest and we're not misunderstood
As if we're going into senility and our second childhood.
But even if it's true - oh what the heck!
We are having lots of fun; we can't worry or fret
Life is too short and we enjoy all that we do
And that's the motto of these sisters 2.
