This site has been created as a tribute to two truly
wonderful people, Joe & Nora
Seliga, and as a place to share information and wonderful
experiences related
to the Seligas and Seliga canoes.
Joe Seliga was a master canoe
craftsman,
hand-building canvas-covered wooden canoes in his Ely, Minnesota,
workshop for more than 67 years. Joe's master building
skills are greatly appreciated by
all who knew him and his canoes. Joe passed
away Sunday, December 18, 2005. Nora Seliga, Joe's wife, best
friend and canoe building partner, passed away October 28, 2000.
