Triumphs!
Hello there - I've been delayed in posting here, as Blogger has recently had a technical issue posting to externally hosted FTP accounts. Coupled with the fact that I've not had anything compelling to write about!
SL Band gig is at Triumph Brewery in New Hope tonight. We may try to record the show for rehearsal purposes (but also for MP3 download if the quality is acceptable enough) using the new hand-dandy H2 Recorder. Will post later about the outcomes of this experiment, which will require a sound guy cool enough to be willing to position drum mics, set levels, and baby-sit the recorder during our set. So, in a very geeky way that is pretty exciting (for me, anyway).
I thought I should mention a shout out to fellow MTD'r Norm Stockton, who I finally had a chance to met in-person at his recent clinic (held at Bass Specialties, which is where I bought my used MTD 535 that happens to be an unofficial "Norm Stockton model" though at the time I bought it, I didn't know about Norm... it's complicated...). Norm is all-around good peeps and is a complete maven on the bass.
I also received the results of the CSW exam that I sat a few weeks back. I killed it - 96% (not bad for cramming...). Anyway, a much needed break from the wine studies is now on the horizon for me (I think I'll get back to drinking it now). I also recently gained entry into the Wine Century Club - more detail on what all of this means is available on the 1WineDude blog.
If you have some spare computer cycles (hint: you do), please consider becoming a part of the World Community Grid. It's easy, painless, and allows you to do some good for humanity even when sitting on your butt in front of the PC!
And finally - if you are a smoker, please consider quitting!!!
Cheers.
