Hi all (aka Mom, Chip, & maybe 2 other people) - some updates from me:
I finally received the results from the
WSET Advanced Certification exam (taken back in Dec. 2006). I passed the written portion "with Distinction" (yeah!) and the tasting portion with "Pass" (doh!), for a cumulative result of "Pass with Merit." Not too shabby - I'll take it! My buddy Jason (of
Cosimo fame) fared even better, he passed both portions "with Distinction." Jason got smarties! I'm in discussions with Jason about trying to parlay our newly acquired wine credentials into a business opportunity somehow... and I'm also in the process of figuring out a date to go for the
CSW exam... more on all of that later...
The venerable
Mike Tobias has informed me that my new, custom, hand-made-and-sure-to-be-totally-kick-a__-awesome
MTD bass should be ready for me to pick up next Friday. I'm hoping to make a trip up to his Woodstock shop to see the digs and pick up the bass, and meet the master himself. Many goofy pictures of me from that sojourn are likely to follow on this site (you've been warned).

I'm heading up to the Woodstock/Kingston area tomorrow to pick up the MTD fretless from Mike Tobias. Mike has been very cool throughout this whole process, and I'm looking forward to checking out the MTD shop where the magic happens and meeting the man behind the curtain.
