PDRacer #23 - The Headless Duck

Headless Duck
The "Headless Duck" (AKA HD) is hull #23 of a "one design" sailboat, the PDRacer. Built in September 2004, with three others it is currently seeing it's first year of serious use. When motivated, I'll update status, trip reports, and/or other stories related to the boat. These boats are great fun, and if you are slightly interested, you should build one.
Features of the HD:
  • Basic 16 freeboard "robsnot" design
  • Fore and aft airboxes
  • Hatch covers on the decks to allow limited storage
  • Door hinges instead of gudgeons and pintles, with a kick up rudder
  • Rotatable leeboard
  • 12 foot laminated wooden mast
  • 4.5 sq. meter standing lug rig

I'm trying to get the boat out at least every other weekend all summer long (2005). Since Northern California has such an extended Fall season, I should be able to sail well into November before the lousy weather kicks in.
