From WOWChrisA@aol.com Mon Jun 8 20:08:25 1998 Date: Sat, 30 May 1998 14:36:24 -0600 From: WOWChrisA@aol.com To: USS CONSTELLATION NCC-1017-F Subject: USS CONSTELLATION: Coming Aboard USS CONSTELLATION NCC-1017-F OFFICIAL E-mail BEGIN TRANSMISSION <> The transporter officer placed his hand on the console, brought it up slowly and then down again in the same fashion. With this quick motion, a figure appeared in a blue shimmering light, on a transporter pad. "Ensign Verchek Alion report for duty!", called the figure. "Uh huh", retorted the Petty Officer manning the console. Alion wondered about his lack of enthusiasm, but none the less remained at attention and awaited his first set of orders onboard his first assignment. He would probably have to report to someone for breifing and a tour, and perhaps receive a third physical from the ship's doctor. He had been in perfect health for the one the day prior on Starbase Omega, and the one before he departed Starbase Alpha. The Petty Officer began to speak again, and Alion turned his attention towards him. "Report to the crew deck, here is your quaters assigment." The enlisted man handed him a PADD. "Thankyou, chief..." Alion stepped down, with his bag slung over his shoulder, and stood below the transporter pad quietly. The Petty Officer glanced down at him, and wondered what he was waiting for. "You can go now, you know...", said the man. He seemed despressed, and disinterested in Alion, and his assignment. Alion had hoped for further orders, but the man seemed to be failing to realize this. Slowly the new Ensign began to sulk out of the room when the officer called after him, "Oh, kid - the Captain will contact you shortly... He's just got over some kinda illness. If not him, then the one of the other brass aboard, Bochu or Bertoli... Welcome aboard..." The man's voice trailed off as he frowned, and returned to the idleness of his console. Alion followed the directions on his PADD, and began the journey towards his quarters. After taking a turbolift down several decks, then venturing about what appeared to be endless corridors, Alion finaly reached the Junior Officers Quarters. Knowing he would probably have to share with several other members of the crew, Alion walked through the doors to find the room empty, and completely devoid of life. While there appeared to be a few inhabitants within, he could see no sign of them anywhere. In fact, he hadn't recalled seeing anyone on the ship except for the bored transporter officer, and a couple of dismayed looking crewman on the turbolift. Alion pondered what the morale levels were aboard this ship. He had heard that Indigo fleet was once a terrible assignment to recieve, but the recent stories he'd heard told of it as a glorius assignment. Having been aboard a D-Warp shuttle for seven days, Alion was unaware of the current situation in the sector. Perhaps there was something wrong, or mabye the crew was upset about the Captain. Depositing his belongings on his bunk, Alion looked to it to lay down. However, before he could begin his respite, a voice came over his compin, "Ensign Alion, report to the Breifing Room for assignment. Commander Bochu will see you now." Alion frowned, and began the long trek back up the ship. Perhaps he would have better luck reaching his destination this time, and actually meet some people on his way. He set out, and stepped into the turbolift. --- Respectfully Submitted; Chris Arnold Ensign Vercheck Alion Engineer, USS Constellation This message sent by an official crew member of the USS CONSTELLATION Are you also posting your messages to the newsgroup?!!!
