FMD: 6.1015 Scene: Air Wing Medical Facility The inert form of the Commander Air Group lie motionlessly on the bed. He had been unconcious for nearly a whole day at this point. CDR Toc didn't feel as if there was anything to really worry about. It was just his body's reaction to the incredible strain that had been placed on it. All of his injuries had been treated, he had even been downgraded from critical. No longer in the ICU area, he lie with a number of other patients, that had managed to be evaced back to the starbase after "Pappy's" collision with a Dalriada missile. Toc and his surgical team still administered to the others. A majority of the remaining pilots had been by to see their fallen leader. The seriousness of the situation had really taken hold of them by the collar as they watched his F-4 explode in a fireball. It was the first time that Miller had lost a shuttle, be it in training or real life. silently they wondered if his attitude about losing shuttles to combat would change, though they supposed not. Peering at him from outside the room, for Toc only allowed certain people access to his facilities, citing various protocol reasons for not wanting the clutter of bodies around and falling back on simple orders from a superior officer when some of the more adamant pilots balked at the previous. O'Wood had been granted time to stay with the CAG, and had been there for most of the evening, managing to get some much needed rest of his own in a small chair that felt like a king sized bed. Finally, at the prodding of Ellery, he had shuffled off to a late breakfast fifteen minutes before. There was nobody there then, when Miller finally awoke. It began as a twitch in his left index finger, that grew slightly until his hand began to grope their surroundings. Feeling the unfamiliar touch of the bed he lie on, the hand moved to his face. It was dark, and he was sure he had his eyes open. It found some sort of covering on each of them. His right arm was imobilized some how, and he began to feel extremely dioriented, a bit confused and a small twinge of fear. Where was he? He briefly remembered a battle of sorts, more flashes of light than anything. Loud noises, a smell of gunpowder. "H-h-hello?", he called weakly, his voice raspy and harsh. His throat felt like it was sandpaper and he regrouped and tried once more after there was no reply. "HELLO!", he managed to nearlly scream, using most of his energy to do so. A passing med-tech jumped slightly, startled, his eyes wide at the unexpected noise. He then hurried off to find CDR Toc. The med-tech accompanied by Toc returned a moment later, finding a motionless Miller once again. "You're certain that he spoke?", Toc asked slightly annoyed at being called away from his other work. He silently wondered if the med-tech was feeling fine himself. Leaning across the bed, he started to perform a scan, simply because he was there, and not expecting to find any difference in the last scan done about a half hour prior. The CAG should be unconcious for awhile longer. Suddenly Miller's free hand darted out and caught the Klingon doctor by the arm. Toc didn't even flinch, merely raised a questioning eyebrow and softly spoke. "Welcome back, Commander." Miller's face contorted slightly and he slowly spoke, taking care to form his words. "I can't see." "That's because you have protective coverings on your eyes. You sustained some damage to the retina's in the explosion. Here, let me remove them for you.", Gollan softly, well as soft as a Klingon could actually speak, said, reaching down and removing the covers from the CAG's eyes. Miller's eye's struggled to focus, his eyes rapidly blinking as they felt freedom from the restraints. Slowly the light began to grow, nothing more than a blur. As the blurred vision began to fade, a room began to take focus. Then shapes.....no sillhouettes. Nothing more than dark against the light background of the ward. Squinting, Chip let his face wander around the room, trying hard to focus on something, anything. Finally, the visage of the flight surgeon began to take shape. Blinking rapidly, Miller leaned forward as he peered out of the dark ring that he was looking through. When he finally was able to identify Toc standing before him, he lurched backwards into the bed, a surprised gasp escaping form his lips. "W-wh-who are you? Wh-wher-where am I? Wh-what are you?", he stammered, his eyes filled with terror. Toc hummed softly to himself, acting as if he saw reactions like these everyday. Finally he spoke, his voice the same constant, soft pitch it usually was. "I am Lieutenant Commander Toc, sir.Flight Surgeon for the 716th Naval Air Space Wing. You are aboard Starbase Alighieri. I am of course a Klingon. Don't you know who you are?" "Of course I know who I am!", shot back Miller, "I'm Colonel James Arthur Ray, 5th Kentucky Infantry Brigade. What have you done with my men? Did they manage to join forces with General Lee?" respectfully submitted, CDR Chip "Pappy" Miller CAG, 716th NA-sW SB ALIGHIERI Josh Young jyoung@nqks.com FMD: 6.1015 Miller awakens.......or does he? Josh NRPG: All: Well, with the Dalriada retreating and us getting on back to NORMAL life back here in DANTE, I figured I'd throw a plot twist into everything. What more could you ask for? The CAG thinks he's a Confederate officer during the Civil War....... This should be a fun twist to everything. Great to hear from everyone finally. Let's get back into that consistant posting we're known for. This current situation should circulate pretty quickly around the starbase. ***This message sent by an official member of Indigo Fleet*** Are you also posting your message to the newsgroup?!!! ---END TRANSMISSION---
