Matok was angry that he must left 'the field of honor'. To die while defending the star base was a honorable death and thousand times better than to sit here and wait. Slowly, still in thoughts, he left the cockpit and turned towards the exit like the other pilots. He unwore his helmet and took it between one arm and body, then he unzipped his suit. No, this was no 'sweat job', this was only sitting like a duck and shot to missiles. But... better than wait on Alighieri meanwhile other men sacrifice their lives to defend the star base. Korak, not far from Matok, also unwore his helmet and a view to Koraks face sayd Matok that he thought the same. As Matok left the shuttle bay, now together with Korak, he realized that all over the ship the condition red lights lightened. They walked towards the NC-17's (de)briefing room and Matok was interested what would be regrouped and when he could enter 'the field of honor' again. ********************************************************************** Scene: SB ALIGHIERI, quarters of Matok FMD: 3.1423 ********************************************************************** After the debriefing Matok went to his quarters. With the usual 'swish' the quarters door opened and Matok entered. Angrily he throwed his helmet to the couch. He was not agreed with the decision to withdrawn and the fact that they won't air born again soon. A deep silent growl from Matok underlined his opinion. Matok walked up and down like a tiger in a cage. His quarters don't offer a view in the direction of the minefield. The fact, that he neither knew what's up out there nor that he can do his job depressed the klingon pilot. After he walked 'a kilometer' up and down in his quarters he remembered, that promenade offers a view of the happenings outside. At the door he stopped and stepped back to take a PADD. This seemed to be a good moment to write his father, because he didn't know when he'll get the next flight order and if he'll survive that. Matok pouch the PADD into one of the various catchalls at his flight suit and turned toward the door. As he left his quarters he was nearly overrun be a engineer who was deepened in a construction plan on his PADD. "Ah oh sorry" he stammered after Matok gave him a deep growl and then he rounded Matok fearful and hurry again his way. Damn, on the corridor was the hell up. Lots of Crewmen, officers and other people - most of them deepened in a PADD or loud discussing - hurried along the corridors. At every person who looked at Matok he thought they sayd 'hey why aren't you out there to defend the star base'. As he reached the promenade he saw that he was not the only one got this idea. It seemed to Matok, that all people on the star base who hadn't duty are came to the promenade to have a look what happened out there. ********************************************************************** Scene: SB ALIGHIERI, promenade, 'Replicators Inn' FMD: 3.1442 ********************************************************************** The Replicators Inn was crowded with people have the same idea as Matok. After he looked thru he found a free chair and he saw, that also Cort and Robin was here. Cort was in thought and Matok won't disturb him. Also it's not state of the art, that an officer sat down to his CO. Matok selected a chair not far away from Cort but with a quite good 'distance of respect. Matok replicated a Ragdajino and Gogh (yes the alive worms *iih* ;-). After he ate this klingon meal, he began to write on his - maybe last? - letter to his parents. It was hard for Matok to find the right words, because since his expel from klingons the kind of connection to his father changed. submitted by "MAD-DOG" Matok Pilot NC-17 NASW716, SB ALIGHIERI FMD 4.1409 NC-17 withdrawn the combat and landed on Alighieri ChrisS FMD 4.1423 Matok went to his quarters ChrisS FMD 4.1442 Matok entered the 'Replicators Inn' ChrisS cu chris Christian Stark chris@rupnet.de This message sent by an official member of the Dante Expeditionary Force Are you also posting your messages to the newsgroup?!!!
