I think I have a solution to our vacant CSciO position. He's headed your way." And then explained what he meant to Greyclaw. FMD: 6.1205 Scene: Yassar's Ready room Yassar was looking over a PADD regarding information the probe was sending back about the Dalriada fleet as it headed out of the Dante System when the door chirp announced someone was waiting outside to see him. "Come" said Yassar. The door opened to reveal Saevok standing on the other side. He walked in and Stood at Attention in front of his desk. "Saevok, there is no reason for you to be at attention in here. stand at ease." requested Yassar. "Sir," replied Saevok raising an eyebrow imperceptibly "I am at ease." Yassar repressed a chuckle. Vulcans never failed to amaze him. "What can I do for you Lieutenant?" "Sir," began Saevok,"I have been under some.. Duress lately. I am having a problem that is somewhat hard to describe to you. It is even harder to share with you, however you are the commanding officer of this station and you need to know what it is that is troubling me. First, I have been experiencing Pon Far. I know you all thought I had delt with it, however I have simply been blocking it off, waiting for the opportunity to more properly deal with it. The advent of the Dalriada incursion and the unfinished business as further prevented me from finding time to properly deal with the Pon Far. I have consulted another aboard this station with the knowledge of Vulcan ways and have been able to stave off the Pon Far for a short time more." "Saevok I had no Idea" interupted Yassar,"Why didnt you tell me?" "To do so would have put you in the position of most likely sending me to Vulcan. A position I found unfavorable as it would have left the station shorthanded, therefore I simply neglected to inform anyone, so as to better serve the station. On that I bring up my second point. I have had some.. regrets as to the profession I.. or rather others chose for me on entering Starfleet. I know my potential as a security officer is enormous, however I feel I would be of more value in a scientific position. I have however no formal training from Starfleet in this field and would feel uncomfortable. Someone has suggested I seek the Science Officers position, however, on consideration of the current circumstances, it would not be the time for personnel to switch fields. My specialty is Security and that is where I am needed right now." Yassar sat there looking at the Vulcan standing in front of him. Some thoughts were racing through his mind. Certaintly a devoted Starfleet officer. Perhaps a little misguided. His Communication with Tao just a a few minutes ago had raised some thoughts in his mind and was no doubt the person that Saevok had refered to for counseling. He would be careful not to break that trust. A hard thing for a Vulcan to give. He was just going to have to push this Vulcan into in the fire so to speak.
