The engineers from the base and the ship itself had done a miracle. There was no other way to describe the rapid repairs they had done to the YORKTOWN. She was almost as good as new. Only some minor troubles still concerned the CEO. Mike made a mental note to pay the two CEOs credits in his next report and to have a talk with the Captain on their performance far beyond normal. Despite the YORK's repairs the base-staff had also to manage the changes to the probes and the fighters at the same time. Now that he had handled all the tasks to schedule and organise the teams and the refit and supply for the ship he could lend the engineers a helping hand. He had been trained at the academy as an engineer too although he had never been assigned as one. His knowledge might be a little outdated but not useless. Therefore he contacted Ne'Telkmar. "Gibson to Ne'Telkmar." [Sir?] came the immediate response via the commlink-system. "I've finished work and I'm asking myself if I can give you a helping hand down in engineering." It was unusual for an XO to do so and the CEO's hesitation on an answer reflected it. [If you like to, Sir?] "Well, Commander. Throw the regs over board. We are at war and I'm trained in engineering. So place me where I can be of use for your staff." "Well, doesn't sound that bad. I think that won't stress my skills too hard." he answered with a grin and noticable irony. [I've two teams Beta and Gamma down there. I'll inform them.] "Thanks. Gibson out." "Mister Alexis, you've the bridge." "Aye, Sir." The new OPS-officer nodded in agreement still slightly amused about Gibson's instinct-driven mental block. Alexis was sure that Gibson knew the codex of Betazed not to read someone's mind without necessity to do so. He himself on the other hand knew that it would Gibson take some time to get used to mind-reading beings around him. Aleis wondered how Ne'Telkmar might have overcome the gulf between him and the XO if he already had. But considering their conversation he had partly heard he was sure they had found themselves a professional relationship on which they could base their jobs. All: Please note the FMD. I would like it to accelerate the timeline to bring us up with the rest of the fleet. Backposts shouldn't be a problem. Yoni: Ok with the FMD? Tom: Don't worry. Gibson won't do all the work. Only creating a possibility for timekilling and maybe char-dev. I've thought we will have to adjust our dockbays to handle the fighters or so. --- respectfully submitted, CDR T.
