He had picked Ens Johg, Ens Avalon, Dr.Frost and Lt Brown from science along with a squad of marines. The captain had been direct when briefing him on what had to be done. The away team would beam to the pirate base and gather as much information as possible on the pirate clans. The marines would provide cover if needed. Taking prisoner was authorized but not necessary. Captain Katz did not want any conformation if possible. "O.K chef energize" said Lt.Cmdr Gibson as the rest of the away team waited Scene: Pirate Base The away team materialized on the pirate base to find the whole place in chaos. Men were running all over the place. People were screaming shouting and fighting. No one noticed the away teams entrance. The marines did what they had been trained and formed a protective barrier for the away team "Sir It seems the pirates have other important matters then us" stated Lt.Brown "Yes it does seem so that's what scares me let's find a computer terminal and get the hell out of here as soon as possible" said Gibson The away team walked for about 50 meters no pirate attempted to stop them. It seemed as if the pirates could care less that the away team was present. The marines were not happy about the situation they wanted to find cover. One of the pirates ran right into the away team. It took the pirate a second to figure out who he had run into but it was to late. The marines acted quickly and stunned the prate and took him prisoner. The away team finally found a deserted room that had a computer terminal Lt Brown quickly sat down and began hacking into the pirate base main computer Scene: USS YORKTOWN "Sir I'am picking up heavy communication traffic from the pirate base it's heavily coded so I can't read it" said an ensign at communication "Crack that code ensign and remember to record as much of it as possible it might prove helpful to us" said Katz "Aye sir will do" said the ensign "Captain Katz to Ne'telkmar status report" said Katz "I'am afraid it's not good sir. Warp engineer are still down I am having extreme difficult getting them re calibrated them It's going to take me at least another half an hour to fix them." said Ne'telkmar "I see cmdr work as quickly as possible I have a terrible feeling were going to need them" said Katz "Understood sir Ne'telkmar out" finished the CEO Scene: Pirate Base "Sir I've managed to crack into the pirate base main computer download as much information as possible." said LT.Brown "Good anything interesting so far?"asked Gibson "Why yes sir, the computer keeps on informing the calm sky program is initiated and will commence in 5 minutes and 30 seconds." said Lt.Brown "Lt get as much information as you can from that computer now were leaving" said Gibson "Lt.Cmdr Gibson the Yorktown" started Gibson "Captain Katz here status report" asked Katz "Not good sir it seems that the leaders of this base started an auto destruct sequence we have 5:00 minutes to get the hell out of dodge" said Gibson "I see cmdr prepare for transport get as much information as possible" said Katz Scene: USS YORKTOWN Main bridge "Captain Katz to Ne'telkmar I need warp in 4 minutes or else were history" said Katz "Understood captain I'am working on it expect warp engines to be operational in 3 minutes" finished Ne'telkmar "Status report on the away team?"asked Katz "There on board" said the ensign at compunctions "Makina full impulse get us as far away as possible from the pirate base" said Katz "Aye sir course plotted and engaged"said Makina Lt.Cmdr Gibson entered the bridge sat down beside the captain "Sir we were able to get a great deal of information on the pirate clans unfortunately it's heavily encrypted. Also I found out that there are about 25,000 men on board that station also the main shuttle bays are damaged. Finally all life pods were desperately sabotaged" finished Gibson unhappily "Damm this pirates" said Katz finally putting the pieces together the ship that had escaped must have contained the leaders of the pirate base "They deliberately left 25,000 men to die so they could escape. I'am going to make sure they pay for this" finished Katz "I wish ther was something we could do to help those people" said Gibson "I'am afraid we can't cmdr right now we need to save ourselves without warp engines I'am afraid were toast. When that station goes how nows how much damage it will do." said Katz "Ne'telkmar to Captain Katz.. I've gotten warp engines on-line I can give you warp 2 at most.."said Ne'telkmar "Understood Ne'telkmar can we keep the warp engines on-line till we arrive at SB-ALIGHIERI?"asked Katz "I'am not sure sir she's barley holding right now I had to use everything including the kitchen sink" said Ne'telkmar "I see what you can do I need us to get us to SB-ALIGHIERI as quickly as possible, I have a bad feeling that something is happening in that area" finished Katz "Ensign Makina engage warp and plot a course to SB-ALIGHIERI" said Katz "Aye sir plot lay in"finished Makina The USS YORKTOWN quickly entered warp and headed towards SB-ALIGHIERI Scene: Pirate Base The computer noticed that the time sequence had reached zero it started to self destruct sequence. The computer had gradually increased the main reactor on the pirate base. It had stopped before it reached critical awaiting to see if the sequence was cancelled. Seeing that state had not reached it increased the core over the critical level. It also armed all charges that had been placed around the pirate base. Finally it armed all charges that had been placed around the general vicinity of the pirate base. Satisfied that all charges had been armed, that the core was at the desired level it set off the charges and the reactor. The reactor exploded taking half of the pirate base with it. The charges had been timed to go off after 2 seconds of the reactor explosion. It did so all charges went off taking the rest of the pirate base with it. The charges set outside the base also went off. Destroying anything in it's vicinity for half a parsec of space and sending a shock wave toward the Yorktown. Scene: USS YORKTOWN "Sir I'am picking a shock wave from were the Pirate base was it's heading directly for us and will reach as in 30 seconds" said LT.Gorhm "All hands brace for impact" shouted Katz The shock wave hit the Yorktown 25 seconds later throwing the Yorktown around like it was a rag doll the gravity on the Yorktown was shut off for a few seconds then was restored "Status report" shouted Katz as he regained his balance "Nothing serious sir. Minor damage to several systems Ne'telkmar reports that he will have them back on-line in few hours. Also minor casualties reported on all decks" finished Lt.Gorhm The Yorktown continued it's voyage to SB-ALIGHIERI Scene: A few hours later "Sir we are arriving at SB-ALIGHIERI" said ens MAkina "Good get us docked as soon as possible" said Katz "Aye sir" said Makina "Also raise a channel with Commodore Matrox I think he might want to find out what we've been up to" finished Katz >>> All:Well were finally at SB-ALIGHIERI some interesting events are going to occur within the next week.
