Meushaw" Subject: [INDIGO] USS NOVA: "The Calm After the Storm" Newsgroups: alt.starfleet.rpg ///// SD: 10028.0100 FMD: 6.2330 Location: Ready Room, USS NOVA (NCC-1776-A) The door closed behind him as Commander Mark Weston, Executive Officer (and temporarily in charge) of the USS NOVA, entered the empty Ready Room. Instead of heading behind the desk, Mark collapsed onto the couch near the door. "Ship's Log, Commander Weston in temporary command of the NOVA. Captain Villiers has left the NOVA; presumably he left via shuttle to OMEGA. He didn't say a word to anybody since Brooks returned and took command. "And now Captain Robert Brooks, returning triumphant and safe from the enemy, is now walking right back into the enemy's hands! And all because of that damned Phaser and his bomb! I wonder how many lives were lost due to that...damn, I can't even THINK of a term strong enough to reflect my feelings on Phaser. We should never be in this war, should never have lost the LEXINGTON, and should NEVER be on the verge of losing our entire FLEET! "With the Dalriada currently gone, I've ordered the ship to Yellow Alert; seemed that they lost interest in attacking us once they realized the Captain had gotten his message in about Phaser. I've a feeling they won't give up easily yet, but for now, the crew needs a break. "Ensign Hensley reported in that everything was still okay in Engineering. If the Dalriada return, we'll need the ship at 100% efficiency. When the Captain returns, I need to ask him about staffing of the Flag bridge; we don't have an Admiral on board, but if NOVA is asked to coordinate any of the ships, the Main Bridge just doesn't have the same power. "OMEGA told me that they'd let us know as soon as anything happens. All I can hope is that we get through this in one piece. Computer, end log." The single chirp sounding through the air signaled the end of recording. Mark decided to follow his own orders and passed out, there on the couch, mere seconds after ending the log. Respectfully Submitted, Commander Mark J. Weston Executive Officer USS NOVA (NCC-1776-A), Flag Ship, INDIGO Fleet a.k.a. Tim Meushaw NRPG: Marc: I had nothing for you to interfere with; if anything, feel free to RP with Weston more. Same goes for anyone else (on NOVA or off). It might help me get over my NOVA writer's block! :-) JJJ: We've only used the Flag Bridge once before, I think; any chance we can get it manned again? :-) Timothy A.
