From KBronn@Cunliffe.demon.co.uk Mon Jun 8 08:23:06 1998 Date: Wed, 27 May 1998 22:33:39 +0100 From: Matthew Cunliffe To: K'Bronn Subject: SB OMEGA: It's Time! [FW] Stardate: 100527.2200 Scene: SB Omega The staff on duty on the bridge stiffened slightly as space that had seemed empty seconds before were now filled with a small aramada. After a brief, and slightly hysterical, search of the shipping database they vessels were identified at Bagherana. One of the staff even had the brains to pass this information on to the senior staff. And at least one of the read if before it all happened. The heavy bustle of the Promenade shopping and bartering seemed to freeze in spaces as an array of tall, vaguely demonic, creatures appeared from no-where as if they'd always been there. Striding along as if their presence had been aboard all the time. Two of these creatures, robed in orange, and a smaller one (of only six foot in height) robed in a dark slate grey, appeared by the Teckata shop. The taller two removed the hood and wraps that covered their facial features and quickly and easily unlocked the doors and entered. Seeing it was their's afterall. The smaller and slightly different shaped figure stopped outside. The two Bagherana turned back and each spoke silently to the other before bows of submission parted their comapny. ****************************************** Counselors Offices ****************************************** The place was empty except for a slightly battered looking Daffyd Adams. His two aides had luckily found valid reaons NOT to be there. The young Counselor, happy to show off his adventures minor wounds (seeing he'd heard women fell for the more rugged, beaten up look) was leaning far back in his chair, arms crossed behind his head, and fast asleep. He was having quite a good dream, one that didn't entirely have a G rating so wont be gone into.... Let's just say it was coming to a rather interesting climax of an approaching figure loosing certain articles of clothing when whatever part of his sixth sense woke him. He would have cursed, and in fact did, but for two different reasons. Only seconds after waking up, Daffyd found himself looking up into darkened mask of cloth and hood of slate grey, before yelping the mentioned curse and falling heavily backwards off his now unbalanced chair. He then lay their momentarily stunned as the figure loomed over him again. Though both face and body were covered in the dark, rough material, he could now make out two sparkling sapphire blue eyes laughing out at him from the folds. The figures throat echoed the laugh held in the eyes the split second it took him to recognise them. Daffyd didn't know whether to scowl, burst into a happy greeting or just lay there. Instead he sat up as the figure moved away, unwrapping her facial covers. "That wasn't the best greeting you've given me Lasha." he announced slightly bitterly, arcing the twinge out of his back as the tall Nacian continued to remove her travelling cloaks and wraps. "Oh, I'd say it comes close to one of the funnier." she grinned mischieviously. She then sat herself down on his desk and started removing her gloves. "What in God's name are you doing here anyway??" Daffyd then remembered information. "You're meant to be on Alighieri!" A dismissive shrug and a hand ruffling slightly shagging short hair. "I grew bored there so left the pussycat in charge a dear John." she replied with a sniff. "I then met up with the Teckata's and joined them in burying their relative. Boy do they throw a good party." Her eyes grinned and her lips followed with a cheeky look of their own. She just adored both the emotional and facial reaction she was getting from Daffyd. "You...." he stammered, trying to think of something strong, manly and mature to say to show he was a REAL Counselor now and not just the cadet she helped train. "You... left a 'Dear John' for the Commander of such a Starbase??" He wheeled away from her, sucking in air as if struck. "I'd ask if you were insane but we already KNOW the answer to THAT one!" he sneered, surprised at how serious and responsible he felt. He liked it, it had a POWER feel to it. "Don't make me hurt you." growled Lasha, still sore over her time in the institution. "you know my insanity was brought on by that damn relic." Daffyd shrugged and tried to look big, powerful, prove to her HE was important on this station while she run away from her own duties. He tutted at her. Decided to take the father to bad baby tone. "I suppose big responsibily Lasha found it alright to just throw a temper tantrum and go off to do her own thing. VERY adult wasn't it?" he then ducked the PADD whizzing at his head. "And now THROWING this because she is still in the wrong?" he asked, putting distance between the two. "Alighieri needed a Counselor as much as place needs paint job!" she indicated the shabby walls. "It may make the place look prettier and more professional, but all in all its still a tiny little office run by a prat!" Lasha sheathed her temper and sent her mind around the station. making breif contact with the Bagherana's on board and searching out what else was hapening. "They needed a Counselor so damn much they transferred me to sickbay Daffyd." she explained sorely. "They didn't even have their own damn CMO when we had our first attack. I was put in charge of a cargo bay full of burnt flesh and the dieing." she scowled, blue eyes clouding to grey. "I'm sure they had their reasons..." Daffyd tried. He'd been taken back by the emotions in Lasha's voice. He knew she only shared those with someone when she needed to talk. "They had this big delgation thing... they had people dieing and all sorts." She went one in an annoyed tone. "But they already HAD staff for that kind of thing. And mst of those testosterone filled pilots rathered sobbing on the bar or a fellow pilots shoulder rather than come to me." Daffyd felt like coming to put a comforting hand on her shoulder but quickly remember who he was talking with and withdrew. "I just didn't feel I was needed there so I was on a kind of extended holiday." Lasha finished with the slightest of pouts. She missed all her friends on the Excalibur and she just felt so out of place these days. "Was it any good?? Travelling with those.... twins?" Daffyd asked, Counselor mode kicking in and keeping her talking out of instinct. "I knew the Teckata's from the before time." she told him with a smile. "And when we met here they gave me a homing beacon. I set it off after my dear John and one of their clan came and took be to their home." Lasha looked around and then kicked her heels against the desk. "We then travelled so far and wide there were places I'd never ever HEARD about Daffyd!" she looked at him with pure child's awe. "Our universe is soooo BIG! Filled with so many different things, so many different places and beings." She then played with her gloves and the pout was even more visible. "And out of the many races we saw and interacted with..... Not one of them had even heard of anything LIKE me... Like a Nacian." she stiffled a depressed sigh and once more Daffyd fought the urge to physically comfort her. "So, seeing such a BIG universe," her tone now indicated an acidy feel "I am still the only Nacian I got depressed and lonely so I came looking for friends and people I cared about." Daffyd's heart melted, perhaps she DID want him after all this time and dreaming. He then came to her, fearless to the usual hit or push away she would inflict, and gave her shoulder a squeeze. Lasha rubbed her nose briefly and finished. "But when we arrived here and I couldn't find any, I decided to come harrass you." Daffyd winced and withdrew. So he hadn't been wrong after all. "Oh come now Daffyd, rise that mental shield higher. Must your base emotions be so loud." Lasha announced in an uncaring tone, as if she didn't know what those base feelings were saying. She then jumped to her feet and grabbed her clothes off the table. "I think I should report into some big nob in charge in a while..." she smiled briefly at Daffyd and ruffled the younger mans hair. "But from what I'm sensing both you and me could do with a good drink and a decent amount of chocolate. Bort's is this way." she then led the way from the offices to the promenade. ************************* NRPG: I hope that was worth it and made sense to SOMEONE. Excuse the typoes ect, I've run out of time to re-read. I'm BACK! (for now.) Janis Hill. Money can't by you love nor friends, but just think of the amount of chocolate it can get a person!
