NRPG: I ment to get this out before Tims last post, but the computers at work were on the fritz. Consider this a back post. USS PROMETHEUS FMD 6.2030 Battle Bridge Chaz sat at his TAC Station, humming quietly to himself some nearly forgotten tune he had picked up on Argus 12. A small smile sat pleasently upon his thin Chamelean lips. He was making an inventory of all of the damage done to the ships weapon systems in the attack. The Computer had been running slow, but now they were docked at Omega and things were running alittle smoother. About him lay rubble, debris and loose wiring. He was a Sea of blissful Tranquility surrounded by the savage Seas of the Hurrican or Typhoon. Chaz was happy. A'Vanya, whose left arm had been cut rather severly by falling debris had just returned from Sisckbay where a med teck had clumsily, hurridly patched her up. She was sure to have a scar than ran almost the length of her arm now, but she kind of liked it. It was a reminder to her of the pain. The pain of loss. The pain of defeat. She figured when she felt like being arrogant, she could look at her scar and regain her humility. She stepped up behind Chaz and placed her right hand on his left shoulder. Chaz looked up briefly, then smiled in recognition. "Ahh, my stalwart companion. How is your arm?" She shrugged. "Well enough to get back to work." Her voice was hoarse. She had done a bit of crying, although she would probably never admit to it. "That's the spirit!" Chaz poked her in the stomach with his lower left arm. "Hey... I like the scar! Makes you look like you grew up on the wrong side of the swamp." "Er, thanks. I think." A'Vanya didn't quite know what to make of the comment, or of Chaz's chipper attitude. "Wow, sometimes I wish we Chamelean could scar more easily. Sometimes I fancy having one of my own. " Chaz paused, daydreaming for a moment. "Hmm, oh well. One can't have anything you know." Chaz turned back to his console, returning to his inventory. "Is there anything I can do?" A'Vanya asked. "Actually, if you would write up a message to ENS Manz's family informing them of her death, I would be in your debt. I really didn't like her. She was an annoying, little used NPC, and I really think you would be much better at handling that sort of emotional clap-trap than I would." Chaz grinned innocently. "Puh-leeeez?" "Um, I suppose." A' Vanya was most taken aback by Chaz's attitude about the death of not only a fellow crewmember, but a member of his department. Albeit he was right about her being so annoying, it was disrespectful for him to talk about her so, wasn't it? "Is there anything else?" A'Vanya asked hesitantly. Chaz looked back up from the console. "Get some rest," he said, placing a hand upon the hand she had resting on his shoulder. "You really look like you need it. Report to me tomorrow at 0900 hours. We'll meet in what's left of 5 Forward." "Aye, Sir." she sighed, happy to get some rest, but longing to help in some other fashion. She also did not relish the thought of drafting up a condolence letter. Exhausted, she dragged herself away from his side, and hoped that her quarters were still intact. ********* FMD 6.2315 Chaz rubbed his eyes with two of his hands, and scratched his sides with his others. He had just finished placing his final request for a negatice power coupling for the phaser arrays, and he was tired of staring at his console, perusing the myriad number of weapon related systems that had been damaged in the attack. If he never saw a Federation requisition form again, it woul be too soon. He decided to turn his attention to his crew. Many of his crew had been hurt or wounded. Only a couple had been killed, including ENS Manx. He counted himself lucky. However, he needed to fill those positions vacated by dead or seriously injured crew. The most obvious and important post being that of ENS Manx. The most convieninet person to fill the bill, ENS Pascal, was going to be out of commision for a while with severe nerv damage. No one else really qualified. Chaz was stumped. Finally, Chaz decided to talk to Sovak. Not only did he need to know what the next plan of action was for the general situation, but he also needed to tlak to him about getting a replacement for Manx. Chaz stretched as he stood up from his chair, then lazily strolled out of the Battle Bridge, with the hustle and bustle of repair crews flittering about him, almost oblivious to his movements. **FMD 6.2030 Manx is dead and life goes on.
