A one Lt Leniah Kenfald. Matthew hadn't as yet had the chance to say hello, making this armour had proven much harder than you would have believed, trying to keep the other science department's from repeating each other's work, and then Sovak seemed to be taking an unhealthy interest, indeed he almost never left the science department, which forced Matthew to keep up. Fortunately he wasn't human. And sleep was something he did not need. But he quietly resolved to take a day off some time and go comatose. Matthew waited until the latest series of tests were underway, and since they would quite happily run themselves he decided to go and get this torture over with, if nothing else it would stop the continual harassment. It really put Matthew in a bad mood when he got lost, shows how often he made it to sickbay, so he was much more abrupt than he should have been. "Ah Matthew" 'Right Lets get this over with, I am rather pressed for time" "OK," Leniah got out a tricorder and proceeded to scan Matthew, after a few moment's she put it down and went to get another, Matthew sighed, last time it took a trip to engineering to prove those things just wouldn't work, maybe this time it wouldn't go quite that far. Leniah motioned over a med tech. "Am I using this properly?" she mumbled. Her technological prowess was hardly renowned. The technician murmured to himself as he scanned the Klen science officer. "I think it's broken, doctor." "This one as well?" "Unlikely. Maybe he knows why he doesn't register. You should ask him." "How remarkable," Leniah mused to Defor. "You don't register on the instruments. Has this happened before?" "All six hundred and seventy eight times." "Pardon me?" Matthew sighed. "That's actual just an estimate. Shortly before I joined Starfleet I estimated I had five hundred medical examinations. I've been keeping track ever since." Leniah frowned. "Oh. And you've never showed up on tricorder scans?" Matthew shook his head. "Hmm. I think I should read your file in full before proceeding. It'll save us both some time." "If you feel that's best." Defor stood up to leave. "Defor!" Leniah called out to the departing lieutenant. "Catch." A glucose disc on a stick flew through the air and into waiting hands. ********** FMD: 6.1705 USS Prometheus - Sickbay The lights had come back on, which almost made things worse for Leniah Kenfald. Sickbay was a wreck. Instruments were strewn throughout. Another pesky ceiling panel had fallen claiming yet another victim, though she couldn't tell who. All there was to see was a pinned pair of legs. Kenfald and Downie were the only doctors present, Washburn and Hanson were leading medic patrols somewhere. Most of the med techs were gone as well, only four were left. The others would be back soon enough, bringing with them wounded. "Clear these tables!" Downie was yelling at the med techs, who hurriedly brushed all the wreckage off what were to be operating tables. Leniah looked over to Dr. Downie, slightly terrified. "Get what you need for surgery. Expect burns and blunt trauma." He was explaining things slowly, trying to get Leniah to react on her own. A few seconds passed, and then Leniah nodded. She looked around, and noticed that her mouth was very dry. Slowly, she stepped towards a surgery kit. The first casualties began arriving via transporter. Just one initially. Then a minute later another, followed shortly by another. Soon the transporter was cycling almost every fifteen seconds. The four med techs rushed towards them, evaluating them by priority. A serious case was soon found, not breathing but with a pulse. Together they pulled the bloody crewman onto one of the operating tables. Three of the techs quickly moved back to the injured, ready to find the next in line. Hanson came in with two med techs and a marine, pulling along two bloody and battered science officers, one without a leg. She had thankfully fallen unconscious. Things were starting to get busy and crowded. Leniah looked around desperately, feeling there was something more she could do. A Petty Officer grabbed her by the hand. "Just fix this one." Leniah swallowed and nodded. "Yeah," she mumbled, "I'll fix this one." The transporter seemed to labour during its cycle, producing the large mass of Jaz. His breathing was labouring, and he slumped onto his back. "Help me sit him up!" Three med techs and the marine that had come in earlier pushed, pulled, and sweat the monstrous being into a position that would ease respiration. They quickly moved on. Two security ratings carried the science officer, Defors, into the infirmary. Finding an open bit of ground, they put him down. "Thank you, now go and help someone else." He croaked. They ran off. A moment later someone came to have a look at Defor. A blue disc was attached to his shirt, a kind word spoken, and then he was alone in a crowd of wounded. On Leniah's operating table the wounded but stabilised crewman was lifted off, only to be replaced with another serious case. Taking the time to sterilise her hands, she quickly got back to work. "Hey, I heard the captain was over on the Agamemnon when she blew." "I wonder when it'll be our time." "This really hurts, will someone please help me!" "We don't have a chance. The Dalriadans have us cold." "They weren't even scratched!" "Aaauuughh!" "I wish I were far, far, away." Leniah closed her teary eyes. 'I don't belong here.' *NRPG* - Mark, thanks for the start.
