(First section is major backpost. I mean to do it two weeks ago, but have been swamped under at work. My special assignment has been extended at this point to another three months. I may get my life back *afterwards,* unless it goes longer.) SD: 100328.1600 MD: 2.0129 The USS YAMATO arrived in the Beuadran System, near the last known coordinates of the USS LEXINGTON. As the ship dropped out of warp, the tension was quite high on the bridge. "Arriving in Sector two-one-one-nine" M'Gan reported at helm. "Assume standard patrol vectors." Stern replied, eyes searching through the black void on the monitor. "Full scan." Commander Connor barked rising from his chair and moving back around the railing towards the tactical station. "TAC, OPS, what do you see?" Lt Trisx replied evenly. "Sensors do not detect any vessels in the area." "No anomalies or anything unusual for this sector of space." D'Artgnan echoed. Alex looked down at the tactical disply. The universe read just as it was supposed to be. It was almost dissapointing... "Very well," Stern said, lacing his fingers together. "Begin deploying probes and sensor buoys in the area." "Relay to INDIGO Command that we are on station and beginning patrol." Connor continued, returning to the main floor of the bridge. He approached the Capatin's chair. "No wreckage, no trace of either ship?" he asked softly. Iaasc leaned back, twisting his lip in a mild frown. "This was the last confirmed location the LEX reported before the battle." he answered under his bearth. "They may have engaged the Dalriada away from this spot. The debris could have drifted as well." Alex nodded twice, then protested. "The saucer section was discovered only four hours away from here, near BuDu Kadiha. This *should* be the location." "No trace of the LEXINGTON?" Stern now asked aloud to Bregan. "Nothing yet, sir." he replied. Stern nodded. "Eveybody keep their eyes open and advise as you spot anything." The next few hours passed. Nothing much changed. It was an ungodly hour, but no one wanted to leave their post, for fear they were about to wiss something. Reluctantly, Isaac got them all to go to bed, then managed a few uneasy hours of sleep himself. The Anxiety of Day two gave way to the misdirected pandemonium of day three and the sheer boredom of day four. (Durning his bridge watch, Morgan *swore* it was that stupid practice scenario from the bridge pre-exam.) Scene: Hallway MD: 4.1809 Alex walked through the hallway with Ensign Mahs discussing the current state of the troops. "Commander, the crew's mental condition may well be 'par for the course' for the very abnormal situation we are currently in, but prolonged continuation at this pace is *not* going to be a good thing." Say advised. "Insinuating that we would be better served if we just ran into the fucking Dalriada and got our tail shot off...." Alex's thunder trailed off and he stopped walking. Mildly embarrased, he looked down at his feet for two moments. "Sorry Counsellor, I guess that was uncalled for." Alex apologized, looking back up now. "Alright, I will conceed that, collectively, we could use a rest. But right now most stations are volunteering to pull double shifts. I'm not about to start telling somebody that their work and dilligance is not needed or appreciated, either." "At this rate," Say replied, "We'll beat ourselves into submission before we even run into a hostile vessel." Connor paused a few moments. "Alright, I'll discuss it with the Captain and get the word out to the department heads to start limiting their troops' consecutive duty hours." Sayphrus smiled. "You may wish to start with yourself, Commander." "No can do." Alex shook his head. "My GAMMA watch starts in under three hours. I'm afraid I'll just have to set a bad example for the crew." (Alexs, anything to add?) "Carry on, Ensign." Connor dismissed, continuing down the hallway. He passed through the junior officer's quarters. Ahead of him, Dr Mara stepped out of a room off to the left. As she left, she zipped up the side of her uniform. Seeing Alex, she smiled and winked as she walked past. A faint smear of read was visible on her lips and teeth, which she licked as she continued down the corridor while tossing her hands through her slightly disheaveled hair. Connor looked back after her, briefly, now smiling hismelf, as if privy to some little secret. He passed the still open dorway, seeing Tami Gladden standing inside, wearing a short bathrobe, a satisfied smile on her face. He stared just a bit too long, and Gladden's attention shifted to him. Her smile dissapeared as her face turned embarrased. Self-consciously, she put a hand to her neck, while looking away and figiting--uncomfortable in the spotlight, as it were--as if she had just been caught with a hand in the cookie jar. Connor looked back again at the CMO dissapearing around a corner, then back to Gladden. A friendly smile filled his face. "Carry on, Ensign." he said again. Tami replied with a rushed "Yes, sir." and moved out of the doorway. Still smiling, Alex shook his head and continued on his way. At least *some* crew members were dealing with the stress. Respectfully Submitted Pat Schumacher-aka Alexander Bonn Connor First Officer USS Yamato Non-RPG: This should get us nearly to the reciept of the news from Tabillin, whcih should come either late MD 4 or early, early 5. Get set folks, this is gonna go full throttle in a bit. Please don't think you have to sit back and wait for others to flesh out all the details. Please continue to post. There are only a few spots (and in a case of unfortunate timing, the CINCINDIGO notice here is one of them) where we do have to keep to scripted points of the story. Everybody still gets to have a say in this. Jeff J/Jeff T.: I guess we're about ready for the official word: Karen: Hope this new victim is to your liking. I had been toying with the idea for quite a while. Janis: Back to your computer yet?
