FMD: 7.2315 Scene: Bridge, USS YAMATO The tall british OPS officer squated behind the main bridge console, a tricorder in hand. He had managed to get a decent hour and a half of uninteruppted sleep, something he hadn't been afforded the past few days. While his sleep had managed to fly by faster than a hummingbird being chased by an eagle, it had been glorious. His reddened, bloodshot eyes thanked him, his aching shoulders and back thanked him and his brain had definately thanked him for the slight reprieve. He hadn't even managed to dream. Just a total shutdown of his system. Engineering had managed to restore a bit more power, but the YAMATO was still, compared to most other ships and even some select space junk, simply puttering along back to OMEGA. The bridge had been damaged as well in the altercation in Burrakis. Something that every crew member aboard, well nearly every crew member, accepted whole-heartedly. They had destroyed enemy ships. Caused chaos amongst those sorry bastards. Revenge for the LEXINGTON. Revenge for Tabillin. It had felt good. Bregan was almost sorry that they had been forced to leave the system. Still, with the Yamato in it's current state, it would have been suicide to remain. Taking a moment from the task at hand, he silently wondered as to the well-being of the rest of the fleet. Had any commands joined the LEXINGTON as casualties of war? What of the PROMETHEUS? Not a devout religious person, the kneeling D'Artgnan whispered a quick prayer for the safety of his former crewmates and the rest of his brave comrades who found themselves caught up in the midst of this fight. Thoughts continued to roam back even further, to conflicts and actions long since forgotten by most, but still stuck in the brains of those that had lived them. Running a hand along the side of his face, he allowed it to continue a path over the top of his head and down through the dark hair, neatly groomed into a long ponytail. Finally, realizing that he had allowed his mind to wander, he turned his attention back to his work. He really didn't wish to think of those times past. "Alright, I believe that will fix you, you nasty little bugger.", he said standing. At least the majority of the bridges consoles were operational, to some degree again. Of course, there would be enough to be done once they reached OMEGA, but this would help them get there. Tapping his commbadge, he spoke, "D'Artgnan to Captain Stern." [Stern here, go ahead, Lieutenant.], the voice of the Captain said after a few moments, sounding decidedly tired. "Aye, bridge repairs have gone decidedly better than expected. Minimal help from OMEGA will be required, we are currently operating at approximately 54%. I say approximate, due to the fact that the numbers keep fluctuating. We have reached up to 60%, however weren't able to hold there long. We are on course to reach the starbase in 4.34 hours. Full repairs will then commence." [Alright, keep me informed in the event anything changes.] "Affirmative, sir. Oh, while I'm thinking of it, sir, have you given any thought to the painting of the Dalriadan ship emblem on the hull. It is common practice dating back to.................", the Englishman continued, finally getting cut of by the CO. [Lieutenant, some other time. After a bit of rest if you don't mind.] "Ummm, aye, sir. D'Artgnan out.", Bregan hurridly spoke, turning to the rest of the crew, "Chaps awful cheery when he wakes isn't he?" The response elicited a few chuckles from the bridge crew, who had grown used to the OPS officers usual good-natured comments. Sitting heavily into the command chair, Bregan looked over the bridge. "Steady course, Lieutenant M'Gan. Steady course. We're going home.", he said, silently adding to himself, "For how long?" respectfully submitted, LT Bregan D'Artgnan OPS, USS YAMATO Josh Young jyoung@nqks.com FMD: 7:2315 Bridge repairs completed somewhat, YAMATO nears OMEGA Josh NRPG: All: It isn't much, but I do have growing inspiration, once we reach OMEGA, I have plenty to write about.
