The Stoner 63A Medium
MG is essentially a
LMG mounted on the M2 tripod with an
adapter. The adapter can be used
with any mount that will accept the small diameter pintel mount. The
Stoner 63A can be removed from the
adapter with the push of one catch. The adapter
will not allow some types of belt
carriers to be mounted while it is in use. The right side
feed will not work with any of the
ammunition holders while the
adapter is in use due to the
adapter creating an obstruction. There are
three types of adapters for the
Stoner 63 series of guns. They consist of the Stoner 63 series
adapter, Stoner 63A series
adapter and an
adapter made by Tim Bixler of SCRC. All three
adapters will interface with
both 63 and 63A series guns. The Tim Bixler
adapter is the only one that can mount a Stoner
63A
Commando since it has a relieve cut into it
for the
drum catch.
