The Swedish BARs are marked on top of the receiver with the manufacturer's name, location and the year the gun was made. As you can see in the below picture my gun was made in 1927 which would make it a m/21 model. Apparently at some point in its life it was upgraded to the m/37 model with the addition of the quick change barrel mechanism and reconfigured butt stock. As with most European firearms almost ever part is stamped with the serial number of the gun.

The rear sight is used in the down position as a battle sight. For extended ranges, the rear sight is flipped up and adjusted. The sight adjust from 200m to 1200m. There is no provision for windage adjustment on the rear sight.

The front sight on the Swedish BAR is a ring style. To zero the sights on the Swedish BAR, the front sight is adjustable for windage. To change elevation, the front sight is replaced with either a slightly taller or shorter one. Since all sight adjustment is done on the front sight mounted to the barrel, when the barrel is changed the gun will remain sighted in.

The selector on the Swedish BAR is different than that of the US BAR. It has been extended to work with the pistol grip configuration. The Swedish BARs are select fire. S is for safe, A is for automatic fire, and P is for semi automatic fire. There is a safety lockout button that needs to be depressed for the selector to move from the safe position to the fire position. This was dropped on the later US BARs used in WW2.

The gas system on the Swedish BAR is adjustable with a three position regulator. The regulator is part of the barrel assembly so when the barrel is changed the gas regulator is also. The lowest position is used when the gun is clean, the higher positions are only used when the gun has trouble operating from debris and dirt in the action or wear.
