The Swedish BARs were typically issued with 8 magazines. The magazine are different than the US standard 30-06 magazine and even the later FND magazines. The magazine is curved to accommodate the 6.5X55 round. The magazine opening in the gun is identical to the US BARs and the US magazine will fit. The Swedes never adopted the "ears" of the 1918A2 to help guide the insertion of the magazine. I can say after trying to change magazines in a hurry, it can be very difficult without the "ears". The magazines were carried on a belt with 4 pouches, each containing 2 magazines. The pouches have a leather lanyard to assist in magazine removal. |

The action cover for the Swedish BAR also double as a "snow shoe" for the bi pod. After removing the action cover, it is laid on top of the snow and the spikes of the bi pod feet are places through the grommeted holes. This gives the gun a stable base that will not sink into the snow when shooting. Obviously this is an accessory that makes more sense in Sweden than it does in less wintery environments. |

| The brass catcher was designed for collecting spent cartridges during training and was not intended for use in combat. The bag can be easily removed from empting while the catcher remains on the gun. | |||

| The blank firing adapter for the Swedish BAR is different than the one issued for the rifle though it resembles it. The BFA is used with the wooden bullet blanks. | |||

| The butt stock of the Kg m/37 is different than that of the Kg m/21. The butt stock has a bit more drop on the bottom side and has a socket to accommodate a monopod. The socket has a sliding cover and a spring loaded catch to retain the monopod. The butt stock is coarsely checkered, like the pistol grip, to aid grip with gloves in snowy conditions. As with most Swedish fire arms, there is a stock disk showing the condition of the bore at last inspection. I assume it is for the main barrel issued with the gun since the quick change barrel mechanism would make the disk not correspond to the barrel in the gun. I am currently looking for a monopod, if you have a one you wish to part with please e-mail me. | |||
