From Arlington, take Rte. 123 north or I-66 west to the Dulles Toll Road (Rte. 267).  Follow west to exit 13, Wiehle Ave.  At the end of the ramp, go right onto Wiehle at the light, and continue to Sunset Hills Rd. (very next intersection).  At Sunset Hills, go right.  Take the first left off of Sunset Hills onto Michael Faraday Ct.  Proceed into the Skate Quest lot on the right. (Total time is usually from 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic.  The toll costs 75¢.)

From Arlington, take I-66 west to the Dulles Toll Road (Rte. 267) turnoff (same as if going to Reston).  Continue on the Toll Road, past Wiehle Ave.  Take the right turn exit for Rte. 28 and bear right to travel north.  Follow Rte. 28 for about 3 miles.  Get into the left lane and make the left turn for Waxpool Road.  Follow Waxpool past 3 lights.  Proceed for exactly 2 miles (the light AFTER the Loudon County Parkway is Smiths Switch Road).  Take a right at Smiths Switch.  Ashburn Ice House is on the left. 

Rush Hour Shortcut
Avoid Rt. 28 during rush hour.  For an additional $2.25 in tolls, continue on the Dulles Toll Road until it turns into the Dulles Greenway.  After the toll booth, follow the Greenway until Exit 6.  Take a right off the exit ramp.  Follow straight past the first stop sign and make a right at the second stop sign.  Follow this road directly to the Ashburn Ice House.

Take Spout Run to the George Washington Parkway.  Get off the Parkway onto 395 North (exit before Reagan National Airport).  Follow 395 North past L'Enfant Plaza/Maine Avenue.  Get into the left lane to avoid traffic and follow 395 until the exit for Pennsylvania Avenue.  Turn right onto Pennsylvania Ave. (it's the only way you can go and get into the middle lanes).  At the second light, turn left onto Minnesota Avenue (after Beauty Supplies Store).  Follow Minnesota Ave. for about 1 mile.  Turn right onto Ely Place.  Ft. Dupont Ice Arena is on the right about ¼-mile ( 3 blocks, just past the stop sign).
