Welcome again, to BigDaddy's Workshop

About BigDaddy:

By Day, I am a Microsoft .NET Web Developer, by Night, I enjoy time with my family, outdoors, on the water in our boat.  I also like to tinker around the house doing DIY stuff, and woodworking.

I have been an avid woodworker since we purchased our home in Nov of '02.  One major reason we bought the home was because of the size of the garage.  900 sq. feet of awesome space.  It came unfinished, with 2 electrical outlets which were wired to a 15 amp circuit used by one of the bedrooms in the house.

January of '04 I undertook the big task of finishing the space off.  Electrical, Insulation, Drywall, Lighting .. you name it, I did it ... it wasn't fun but I got it done just the same.

Now, onto the current shop:

This is a shot from the front of the shop looking toward the right corner.

This is looking towards the center, you can see how much room I have now.

And here's looking towards the back. This is an updated picture as I added a big lumber storage area back there.

turn around, and looking towards the other corner.

Here's looking from the back of the shop.

Now we start in on some tools hanging on pegboard.  These are mostly diy around the house tools not specific to fine woodworking.  I've got a set of marples chisels for the house.  The nailers are a Paslode 16 gague finish nailer and a framer.  Also you see an 18 gague brad porter cable coordless.

Here is my assembly tadble.  birch plywood base, 2 layer mdf core top with high pressure laminate.  That michigan trash can with all the white next to it is my electrolosys bin.  You can see it's been sitting there awhile. :)

I've got a lot of stuff I store below my assembly table, one of which is my new stihl 310 chainsaw.  Hack up a lot of bowl blanks with this baby :)

here's a shot of the back bench.  L shaped, 2 layers of birch plywood.  The base cabinets were deals I got at Bed & Bath beyond about a year ago.  They were $20 each.  What a steal huh? :)

store lots of my power tools under these cabinets.

here's the back part of the L.  the bench again is 2 layers of birch, joined at a 45 degree angle by pocket screws.  It's all trimmed in maple.  I've also got my MKII sharpening system on top of it there.

And here is my MKII.  Awesome machine! :)

Here's another recent project of mine. My hand tool cabinet. Solid maple. Hand cut dovetail corners. Roughly 6' wide x 30" tall .. (at least, I'm guessing on this now.. )

Closeup of the handcut dovetailed corners.

All closed up.

Here's my Husky 30 gallon, 2HP compressor.

Here's more tools specific to woodworking.  Squares, Calipers, Combination Squares, levels, saws.
