Welcome to BigDaddy's Workshop
Although by day, I am a software developer, by night I am a family man and enjoy playing, along with the wife and kids, in my shop. I recently started woodworking about 2 years ago with a Circular Saw, a drill, and a hammer. Since then, I've moved into a new house with my family, where I aquired a 900 square foot garage (that was my major selling point.) Origionally the outside walls weren't insulated and were open studs, and there was one circuit in there with two outlets. These two outlets were on the same circuit as my son's bedroom. After fussing with this for over a year, I finally took on the challenge of running a subpanel, wiring 18+ outlets, adding lighting, insulation, drywall, and a furnace. Now, finally, after 2 1/2 months, the upgrades are done. You can look at before and after pictures ...

Now, on to the new shop ...

Here is a rough drawing. The garage has two parts to it, one section is about 35ft x 20ft, the other section is 14ft x 25 ft. The back section is where I had my origional shop, but as my hobby grew, I needed more space ... so, out with all the storage, and lets take over the shop :)

Here, we see the entrance from the garage door, along the left side of the shop.

Here is the right side. This all used to be storage space, now it's the heart of my shop ..

Here's my new clamp rack. It's on a mobile rack that I picked up from a local store going out of business. Got it for $20. Not bad eh? Stealth gloat on Jorgy Orgy's from last summer.

We now move up to the right wall. Here's my wall of tools .. Saved the pegboard that was from the old shop.

Underneath the wall is my general workbench, along with my 6" grinder, a metal working vise, my compressor and hose reel, along with my craftsman tool chest. Also, can't have a shop without some tunes.

Here's a wide view of the corner .. got a few cabinets hanging up there as well.

Next we move onto the back wall (the close back wall that is) .. and there are my Ryobi OSS and Delta Belt / Disc Sander.

Keep going, and you'll see my HF 14" bandsaw, along with another cabinet.

And along we go, my Ryobi 18" VS Scroll Saw. No it's not a Dremel!!!!!!!

Behind that stuff is my workbench. My own design, trestle base made out of reclaimed pine 2x4, 4 layer MDF top, trimmed in oak and a Woodcraft front vise that is oak, along with the handle which I turned myself. Below you can see my hand plane collection.

Above the spindle and belt sander are my saws and measuring tools.

Turn the corner around the scroll saw and you'll see my miter cabinet I threw together. It's made out of MDF .. not the prettiest thing in the world but it's sturdy and flat.

My HF Mortiser sits at the end of my miter cabinet.

My new Ridgid 12" Laser Compound Miter saw with extension fence and bed. Would've gotten the Delta, but lowes was out of stock at the time, and the Ridgid lifetime warranty was still on (Got this in January). I like it, good solid machine.
